Changes from 2000-2001 3.1.1 Play ceases immediately when time is called. 3.1.2 Judge must reseat players so that they do not sit in the same position relative to one another "when possible". It isn't possible in a 4-player tournament, for instance. 3.1.4 A player dropped in the middle of a round receives a loss instead of a 0 VP finish. Also affects 7.2.5. 4.3 New cards become tournament legal for constructed tournaments after 30 days, not necessarily on the first of the month. 5.2 Players must act only on in-game considerations. 6.1.1 Tournament Organizers may limit the sets from which decks may be constructed. The results of such tournaments do not count toward player ratings, however Questions: 1. What is the exact date a card comes out? How do we know this? ie, Will cards be tourney legal earlier in the USA than in Europe? 2. The BIG question: how do you define in-game considerations? Is in-game the same as in-tournament or really only the game you are playing only? If it's the latter: are table splitting deals still allowed? If my prey proposes a 3/2 VP split of a table and only in-game considerations may be act upon, I'm not allowed to make this deal? 3. How do you define 'immediately'? Do strikes who are chosen in a combat still resolve? This can be important when there's a Fame on one of them. Jeroen

See the cited section of the V:EKN rules: 5.2 If the 3/2 split is referring only to the current game, then it is in-game. If it refers to something other than the current game, then it is not in-game. Is the in-game split doesn't reduce your expected VP finish in that game, then it should be good. > 3. The term is not explicitly defined for V:TES nor for V:EKN, so use the standard English definition. If the strikes have resolved, then they have resolved. If they haven't, then they don't. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to revised rulebook, rulings, errata, and tournament rules: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/

A game is well-defined and doesn't include the tournament as a whole. Se the section cited aboce. > 3. How do you define 'immediately'? Do strikes who are chosen in a combat > still resolve? This can be important when there's a Fame on one of them. Immediately is immediately. If the strikes have resolved then they've resolved. If not, then they don't. [ quoted text not captured ]

If I sit down at a table and it becomes apparent that it is highly unlikely for me to get any victory points, what are my legal options? For example, is it legal for me to try to ensure that as many people get VP's as possible by taking cross-table actions? So long as it doesn't hurt your prospects for VP accumulation (as you almost state in your assumptions), sure. There's a discussion on this sort of thing on the rec.games.board newsgroup now under the "ethics" subject thread. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
