Question about Bonding ...

Greetings fellow methuselahs.... A quick question about Bonding and Forshadowing Destruction: Bonding states that no more than 1 of Bonding, Conditioning or Threats can be played in a single action. It doesn't however mention Foreshadowing Destruction (i think this is the name of the action modifier (am having to try and recall the name as an opponent has one but I don't etc).. Therefore an opposing methuselah claims he can play this further bleed modifier after playing Bonding or playing Conditioning etc (these cards being produced prior to Foreshadowing Destruction I guess...) Anyway, wanted to ask is it okay for him to do this or is there a general rule about no more than one bleed modifier being played in any one bleed action even if the first modifier doesn't mention the second bleed modifier specifically? Thanks in advance for any help on this one, and I apologise for bothering the newsgroup with such questions... It does however give me the chance to let you see my new Ventrue style signature though... The *JYHAD* copy of Bonding states the other bleed modifiers. The V:TES versions states no more bleed modifiers. In all cases, the Sabbat version overrides the V:TES version overrides the Jyhad version. The three +bleed action modifiers from Jyhad (Bonding, Conditioning, and Threats) were all reworded in the VTES printing to say: "After playing this card, you cannot play another action modifier to further increase the bleed for this action." (Which also happens to be the wording used by all the +bleed modifiers printed in the expansion sets, except for superior Command of the Beast). > Thanks in advance for any help on this one, and I apologise for bothering the > newsgroup with such questions... No problem. That's what this group is for. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Check the VTES wording: Card Title: Bonding Card Text: After playing this card, you cannot play another action modifier to further increase the bleed for this action. +1 bleed (S) +1 stealth and +1 bleed > Therefore an opposing methuselah claims he can play this further bleed > modifier after playing Bonding or playing Conditioning etc (these cards > being produced prior to Foreshadowing Destruction I guess...) As you can see by the reprint, this is incorrect. The only card that you can stack another bleed modifier on top of is Command the Beast used at superior. Having had this problem in the past with other players who have tried to use the Jyhad print of a card because they preferred the wording, tell your friend that if he mixes VTES and Jyhad cards in the same deck, he should expect to play by the newer printing of all the cards....not just the ones he chose to use the newer versions of. It's a good idea to do so anyway. It keeps the play consistent. Granted, there were some obvious typos in the VTES print (*grins at LSJ and Peter*) but this wasn't one of them.
