They are relatively similar. First Strike beats all other "strikes" in
Magic, except (now) the effects of flanking. In Jyhad, First Strike beats
all normal strikes, except for S:CE and Dodge.

Likely true, but we would probably have different questions then (rather
than "Does first strike beat S:CE" it would be "Which first strikes go
first?"

With the exception of some of the newer card effects (which could, I might
add, be fixed up quite easily), it is cut and dried. Alexandria's
special, The Louvre, Heidelburg Castle, and some others have created
timing baggage, but this baggage could easily be avoided by a ruling on
timing of such actions. (My own preference is to make all special "tap"
abilities only usable when nothing else is resolving, in normal order of
precedence (actor, predator/prey/directed target, clockwise around the
table), excepting explicit card text.)
