Blood Brother Ambush timing question

Here's the situation: Frederick the Weak is blocked. He plays Blood Brother Ambush. Before range in this new combat, BBA plays Increased Strength twice, then plays Concealed Weapon with a Garrotte. BBA strikes Undead Strength for 5 with the Garrotte, and knocks the opposing vampire into torpor. Does the BBA get the opportunity to burn the Garrotte to burn the opposing minion? Or does combat immediately end, burning the BBA first?
