I heard from somewhere that a minion can only perform an action once per turn. Is this correct? For instance, can I bleed my opponent and then use Freak Drive or Force of Will to bleed with that minion again? Also, what is the deal with making Fame a unique master? What, there can't be more than one famous vampire? I am pretty sure Michael Jackson and Prince are both vampires, and they don't seem to have a problem. (Ever seen Prince in the light? How 'bout Michael without shades?)

This rule ("No Repeat Actions") is one of the special floor rules for tournament play, yes. > Also, > what is the deal with making Fame a unique master? How 'bout Michael without shades?) There is no real-world explanation/reasoning. The "unique" errata was added when it bacame obvious to the Rules Team (RT) that Fame was broken. Uniqueness is the RT's attempt to bring Fame into line. Fame is still a little on the strong side, even with the errata. -- L. Not if you play by No Repeat Actions - which some playgroups do and DCI tournaments do too. > Also, >what is the deal with making Fame a unique master? It stops it getting out of hand. > What, there can't be >more than one famous vampire? The First Tradition: Masquerade has something to say about this. If vampires start becoming too obvious to people, then princes, justicars, inner circle and basically everybody around gets ever so slightly annoyed at the fact that feeding is more difficult for them, the police are more alert to them and so on, so the total number of famous vampires tends to be very low. >I am pretty sure Michael Jackson and >Prince are both vampires, and they don't seem to have a problem. (Ever >seen Prince in the light? How 'bout Michael without shades?) > Yeah, but that's the secret government conspiracy that we don't talk about :) But seriously, Fame can get seriously abusive in large quantities. Put it on two vampires, then they can do things like a pointless action, day operation, freak drive, leave torpor, freak drive, a different pointless action, day operation, freak drive, get rescued by another vampire, play Rutor's Hand etc. etc. And two vampires can do that for, say, 18 pool loss in one turn. Learn to do more actions and you could likely oust a Methuselah from in excess of 20 pool very quickly. This is something which many people consider abusive and which circumvents NRA (No Repeat Actions). However, it seems very odd that the Rules Team were quite prepared to errata this and fix it in V:TES to be Unique but they aren't prepared to do anything like that with Return to Innocence. Oh well. -- James Coupe (change "nospam" to "obeah" to reply by e-mail) You were my strength when I was weak. You were my voice when I couldn't speak. You were my eyes when I couldn't see. You saw the best there was in me. Lifted me up when I couldn't reach. You gave me faith because you believed. I'm everything I am because you loved me.

No repeat actions is an optional rule except in tournaments, where it is in force. It means your vampire can't take the same action TYPE twice in the same turn. But you can take other actions - a good combo is equip, Force of Will for example. This ruling is to stop the following deck from stamping you flat in one turn: Crypt - cheap vampires with FOR and PRO Library - one fifth each Restoration, Freak Drive, Rapid Healing, Movement of the Slow Body, Force of Will. Also, > what is the deal with making Fame a unique master? What, there can't be > more than one famous vampire? Hehehe .... from the story-telling point of view I agree with ya, it's a crap rule. But the trouble with multiple fames is that you end up with TABLES full of Famous vamps doing Sunrise Services, Day Op'd Nail-polishing actions, Rutor's hand and Force of Will. If it really bothers you, Fame being unique is a philosophical comment on the transitory nature of wordly fame .....
