ok, a few questions (marked with "*") about diablerie in combat (Amaranth, Liquefy the Mortail Coil). The step numbers refer to (6.5.5). * is step 4 (getting a Master Discipline card) fully resolved before moving to step 5 (activating Trophies), i.e. if you play a Trophy from hand and replace it with a Master: Discipline card, it's too late to play the Master: Discipline. Correct? * do you apply the following effects _after_ step 5 and _before_ the 6.5.6 Blood Hunt Referendum : -choose Charnas' new controller (if he was on the Amaranth'ed vampire) (If the minion is burned, his or her controlling Methuselah can put Charnas on any minion.) -gain votes from a Political Struggle on the victim, which would affect the blood hunt referendum (If the vampire with this card is burned or sent into torpor, this card is burned and the acting vampire gains X votes, where X is the number of non-contested votes the vampire with this card has.) -play inf. Soul Stealing (Only usable when a vampire you control burns a vampire controlled by your prey. [nec] [ACTION MODIFIER] This vampire gains an amount of blood equal to half of the burned vampire's capacity (round down). Ignore excess blood. [NEC] [COMBAT] As above, but usable in combat.) -play Ritual of the Bitter Rose (Each ready vampire you control gains an amount of blood from the blood bank equal to the amount of blood on a vampire being burned either by diablerie or while in combat with this vampire.) -take the unpreventable damage from an Amaranth'ed Nakova (Camarilla primogen: If Nakova is burned in combat, the opposing minion takes 4 damage (damage not preventable).) -play Draught of the Soul (Only usable when this acting vampire burns another vampire.) -if Aziz (with Tajdid) diablerizes, he gets his status counter now (Place a status counter on Aziz each time a vampire opposing him in combat is burned. ) -play sup. Predator's Transformation (Only usable when this vampire burns a minion controlled by your prey, either in combat or as a (D) action. Your prey burns two pool. ) -activate Sandra White's damage (If Sandra diablerizes an older vampire, the controller of that vampire burns 1 pool.) -activate a Soul Gem (meaning the "backup" vampire would affect the blood hunt referendum, if he has votes) (If this vampire is burned, draw the top card from your crypt. ) ; note : the Soul Gem obviously activated during step 2 since it cannot be taken by the diablerist, what matters here is whether the newly brought vampire will affect the referendum or not -trigger Tension in the Ranks damage due to the victim burning (Whenever a ready minion is burned or sent to torpor, his or her controller burns 1 pool.). -play [obt] Hell-for-Leather ([obt] Play if this anarch is ready and the opposing minion is not. The opposing minion's controller burns 2 pool.) * follow-up questions if the above is correct : if Sandra White / Tension in the Ranks / Predator's transformation / Hell-for-Leather pool loss oust the Amaranth'ed victim's controller, do you still move on to 6.5.6 ? What if Last Stand was in play, would you still move on to 6.5.6 ? (I hate this atomic thingy diablerie..it's just fodder for aspirin makers) *yet another follow-up question : what would happen to the diablerist going to torpor after taking the damage from Nakova's special ? Would you still conduct a blood hunt referendum ? * Taste of Vitae can only be played _after_ 6.5.6 referendum ? It couldn't be cycled between step 5 and 6.5.6 to try to fish for a Ritual of the Bitter Rose, for instance ? [LSJ 20080527] says ToV can be played after blood hunt, just checking if it can only be played after that blood hunt referendum, not before. * When would the controller of an Amaranth'ed Illusion from the Kindred choose whether the IotK is removed from the game or burned (Remove the {crypt card} from the game at the end of combat.) ? After the "Taste of Vitae" step ? or after step 5 and before 6.5.6 ? That's it for now. I'll hoard aspirin now. thanks Stone

[ quoted text not captured ] The soul gem activates after the diablerie. It, like everything else, does not interrupt the steps of diablerie; those steps are always conducted together as a unit with no interruptions. > -trigger Tension in the Ranks damage due to the victim burning (Whenever a > ready minion is burned or sent to torpor, his or her controller burns 1 > pool.). > -play [obt] Hell-for-Leather ([obt] Play if this anarch is ready and the > opposing minion is not. After the "Taste of > Vitae" step ? or after step 5 and before 6.5.6 ? The Amaranth'ed Illusion is burned in 6.5.5.3 It is not around to be removed from the game. http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/6888fc29e5ce1a4e
