I need to be sure of the exact process of prevention in the case of a strike with some aggravated damage and some non, for example let's say 3 damage, 2 normal and 1 aggrav : - if I prevent just one, can I choose to prevent the Aggrav ? - if I use sup Flesh of Marble, can I also choose ? - if I use inf Flesh, do I take one aggrav + 1 normal damage ? Yes. Eplicitly stated in the rules. [6.4.6] > - if I use sup Flesh of Marble, can I also choose ? This is damage prevention, so yes. > - if I use inf Flesh, do I take one aggrav + 1 normal damage ? If you choose to. One would normally choose to just take the 1 agg. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. This is AFTER the damage prevention is played. Preventing can prevent any point of damage happeneing at that time (subject to card text constraints, of course) and while we're on damage prevention..... say muaziz has 0 blood, and is in combat with an opposing vampire with 1 blood. say that other vampire plays superior undead strength for their strike, and muaziz plays superior theft of vitae. Now, we resolve both strikes simultaneously. muaziz gets 3 points of damage allocated to her, and gains the 1 blood off the opposing vampire. As far as i can work out, now is the time to play damage prevention, and now that muaziz has a blood she can play Skin Of Steel to prevent all the damage. Is this right? salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

Is this right? Short answer: yes Longer Answer: Both strikes resolve simultaneously - true But there is strike resolution where Muaziz gains the blood Then damage is applied. Damage prevention can be played at this point. So you're good. -JTP

Assuming no other damage had been done that round, yes. (If you'd already taken a damage, all three would be prevented.) You could take one point of agg, prevent the two normal, or take a point of normal and prevent one agg, one normal, whichever you prefer. >- if I use inf Flesh, do I take one aggrav + 1 normal damage ? The one aggravated damage would satisfy Flesh of Marble's condition - even though it couldn't prevent it. It only cares about damage you take - not damage you take that it could have prevented. So you take one aggravated, and then it prevents the two normal. The slightly more complex one is if you take, say, a single point of damage earlier in the round, then take 1 agg, 2 normal, with inferior Flesh of Marble. (e.g. you got hit by Weather Control, then by an aggravated hand strike and some retainers, or whatever) Then: - Flesh of Marble can't prevent the first point of damage (Weather Control is unpreventable, of course, but since it's the first point of damage, it won't prevent it even if it is preventable) so you take 1 point of Weather Control damage - When you reach the 1 agg, 2 normal from the strike/retainers, inferior Flesh of Marble wants to prevent all of it (you've already taken one damage), but can't - it can't prevent agg damage at inferior. so you take the aggravated damage, and prevent the other two So in total, over the round, you take the Weather Control damage, then the point of agg whilst preventing the two normal. Similar multi-point set-ups can be concocted involving additional strikes, Drawing out the Beast's press phase damage. e.g. a Gangrel Antitribu who blurs, and does a single point of damage on his first strike and a single point of aggravated damage on his second strike (and you take no other damage) will mean that your inferior Flesh of Marble prevents no damage. (It doesn't prevent the first point taken, and then it can't prevent the aggravated damage because it's at inferior.) Whereas if it was the other way round - a point of agg, (you play Undead Persistence to stay around), blur, point of normal - you'd take the point of agg, but it'd prevent the point of normal. (You've taken one, so it can prevent the normal damage.) -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, EBD690ECD7A1FB457CA2 So you don't confuse them with mountains. 13D7E668C3695D623D5D
