i'm pretty sure i know the answer to this but i want to check - it keeps coming up in tourneys and playgroups and no-one believes me when i say the following: If a methuselah is ousted then all the master cards s/he played leave the table, unless stated otherwise by card text, or unless the cards have been taken over in some way [eg Disputed territory on a master location, or tricky stuff that steals discipline cards]. This includes Fame and Discipline cards that s/he played on someone else's vampires. Am i right? Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

In article <8l1hn9$i5m$1...@nnrp1.deja.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Hello Legbiter, Last I heard, this is correct. And with the Discipline cards leaving the table sounds odd, but it falls in line with everything else from what I have read from Derek, Coupe and LSJ. The same is true for all cards (not just master cards) that she controls - although Master cards tend to be the primary examples since they are controlled by the Methuselah who played them by default (unlike minion cards, which are, by default, controlled by the controller of the minion they are on). See the rulebook, section 1.3, for details. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. The master card was played by you, and control never passed to another Methuselah. (I guess you could if you were really bothered, with a Succubus Club or Malkavian Time Auction.) Hence, the card is still controlled by you when you are ousted and, as with all master cards you control, leaves with you. -- James Coupe

Since this issue has confused lots of people in the past (inclding me ;), it probably would be a good idea to but the following snip from the current errata/clarifications document into the rulebook proper. Afaik, the online rulebook does not specify precisely what happens when a Meth is ousted (or actually, does not specify who controls what cards). Controlled Cards By default: each Crypt card in play is controlled by the Methuselah who put it into play; each Master card in play is controlled controlled by the Methuselah who put it into play; and each Minion card is controlled by the controller of the minion it is on, or if it is not on a minion, then it is controlled by the Methuselah who put it into play.
