Spying Mission and what is a "sucessful bleed"

Hi all I've got some problems during my first attemp within a tournament here in Brazil last Sunday. It was a Camarilla pre-con only meeting and I was about to oust my Malkavian prey with a Nosferatu deck. Had a Spying Mission on a minion (placed after a sucessful bleed on the last turn, as it should be) and my prey has got only one pool left. After tapping the minion and announcing the bleed, my prey played a Telephatic Counter, so reducing the bleed on two. I was about to burn the Spying Mission to get +2 bleed and oust him, but he said that since the initial bleed was for one pool and was countered, it was not successful, so I couldn't even use the Spying Mission. At the time I agreed, reading the superior version of the card and noting that the "next time this vampire sucessfully bleed" clause was there indeed. I was ousted by two well-placed Conditionings before I had a chance to play one more turn, and went on. But as I got home with a few friends, we couldn't agree about what is exactly a "successful bleed". Has anyone an insight about that case? My bleed was successful because it wasn't blocked, or it was unsuccessful because it was countered?

[ quoted text not captured ] You played correctly. SM is not burned if the bleed is unsuccessful. A bleed of zero is not successful. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. I've sent this message and the chance that there was a previous question (in fact, a lot of them) about Counter/SpyingMission in thos forum only came to mind after posting. Next time I promise I'll do a regular search before posting.
