The 2003 V:TES North American Championship will be held at Gen*Con Indy
on Saturday, July 26, from 10am to 7pm.
The final North American qualifier will be at Gen*Con Indy on Friday,
July 25, from 10am to 7pm.
I'll also be running two Rapid Thought tournaments (same format as
last year), one on Thursday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm and one on Sunday
from 8am to 10am.
And there will be two formalized demo sessions on Thursday, one from
10am to 12noon and the other from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.

Forgive me if I'm being dense but could somebody
tell me if there's a difference between GenCon and GenCon Indy?
Was it always GenCon Indy or is someone out there changing
the name just to confuse me. It appears from the site that GenCon Indy
is what used to simply be referred to as GenCon, is this true?
Whats the story cause if I happen to manage it I'ld hate to go to the wrong
event ;)

Yes, that's right. GenCon has moved for the first time, in, uh,
I don't know how long but a long time. It was in Milwaukee for
many many years, but this year it is in Indianapolis instead.
I think the organizers are calling it GenCon Indy to differentiate
it from the spinoff GenCons that they've been creating: there's
going to apparently be a GenCon SoCal in southern California
somewhere in late 2003, and of course there's GenCon Europe, and
so on.
Anyway - GenCon Indy is the place to be. There is no GenCon but
Indy GenCon, for it is the one true GenCon. At least, it'll
probably be the only one for me. :-)

As I mentioned in a previous post, myself and some other Brits are
coming along to experience the delights of GenCon (Indy :), so, can
we, err, actually play in those tourneys, or do we have to qualify for
them (and if so, any chance kind Mr LSJ can make it so me auto-qualify
- we're all easily good enough) :)

All the tournaments I'm running at Gen*Con Indy are open to all players
except for the Championships.
If you qualify in *any* qualifier (European, North American, Australian,
or South American), you can play in *any* Championship (subject to
your ability to travel, of course).
Also, the finalists from the 2002 Championships automatically qualify
for all 2003 Championships.
If you aren't already qualified by the time you get to Gen*Con Indy,
there's always the Friday qualifier.

Last year's qualifiers don't count for this year.
Last year's championships do (the finalists from last year's championships
are qualified for this year).
You can always try one of the other Euro qualifiers as well, if you're
looking to increase your odds.

Would love to. Unfortunately, the trip to come and see you guys is
taking my expendable income for a bit - guess I'll just have to make a
killer deck and try really hard. Failing that, I could try begging
