That's fine so long as you can protect him. I've seen a similar deck fall apart because the first vampire (an IC member) was sent to torpor and diablerized (by a Gangrel Prey and a weenie of the predator, respectively) immediately (before the IC ever got an action). Losing 11 pool (and transfers) at the start of the game can really hurt. A library filled with Master:Skill + Soul Gem/MagicSmithy + Golconda Plus a crypt full of Ulugh Begs doesn't make for a very robust deck. Easily defeated before you can really get going. -- L. Sure, you'd probably not need any more to win the game, but for true degeneracy, try this on for size: Use all small vampires (2 and 3 capacity) from all the clans. Add a few copies of Anson (say, 4 or 5, depending on the size of your crypt, about 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 chance of getting Anson) for his multiple master card ability. In your library, use all the hunting grounds from the clans you have represented (say, 2 or 3 of each), and all the blood dolls you may have, but no more than one for each vampire in your crypt. Use also the cards like Arcane Library which add pool to uncontrolled vampires. Clan Justicar cards can be a fun, too. Add your favorite cards to use with the masses of pool you will accrue, given a little time (weapons are a good choice), and enjoy. The deck is slow getting moving, but a great pool generator after 4 turns or so. I was preying on it with a Tremere combat/bleed deck, and by the time my deck got moving (another relatively slow design) he was generating more pool each turn from the hunting ground/blood doll combos and Arcane Museum- like cards than I could bleed for, and the weenie vamps could choose to sacrifice themselves for the bigger bleeds, if necessary. I think the deck probably got a good bit of luck and the advantage of the unexpected, but the game ended with the weenies winning, and my prey ended up with more than 120 pool at the end of the game, with at least 12 vampires out. It was amusing to watch my predator's Gangrel deck try and deal with it after he ousted me. -Wallpaper Paste for all those useless cards

David Zopf The problem with this, as I see it, is that a.s.a.p. for Ulugh Beg and his nice little friends are... *drumroll* three turns. (two if you get the info highway out. And you depend deeply on getting the right cards. Every turn you need a skill card and a golconda. The demented combo I would prefer, works only on Malkies though. And you'd better have a rumors of gehenna or Anson out. Combo: You need two Malkavian dementia, one minion tap, one golconda. Turn one: You dement the top Malkie preferably Lucien or Leandro. then use your second master action to minion tap him for all that he's got. Turn two: You dement the same Malk and the show him Golconda. Hey presto! Twenty more or less instant blood and one less bigbadmalk to worry about. I figure the cardrate in a 60 card deck with a 12 vamp crypt would be something like: 4 Malkavian dementia 4 Minon tap (since these are the most usful cards anyway) 2 Golconda 2 Rumors of gehenna 3 Anson But even this combo is highly irreliable. Ok, sounds good so far. : Bring one of them out a.s.a.p. say, Ulugh Beg. Costing 10 pool or so, and multiple turns during which a smaller crypt deck will probably already be working on you. : Play a Master:Skill card on him. Fair enough. : Equip with Magic of the Smith, or equip as normal to get Soul Gem of : Etrius. Fair enough, though I don't think I would have let you equip with the Soul Gem if I could help it... ;) : When drawn, Golconda, to gain 11 pool and have the next crypt vampire : inherit the Soul Gem, who happens to be, Surprise!! Ulugh Beg, (and he just : happens to be a cap. 10 vamp, younger than his evil twin, Embraced mere : minutes before him). How much blood do you want with this deck... well, : how many Golcondas can you trade for? Well, remember that you need to be able to put a new skill card on the new Ulugh Beg. : Include a Progeny/The Embrace concept for lots of little Obf. bleeders, : and you've got a solid lead, with about 40 to 60 pool for your predator to : get through. It uses removed cards (for what that's worth), but if you're : going to be excessive.... And again, I don't know about a solid lead against people who are actually paying attention. Sudden Reversals, rushes, steal and destroy equipment folks, not to mention hand jam from the master card intensive combo... And by the time you get 40 pool (30 - 10 + 11 + 11???) you will have taken how many turns? At least two to get out Ulugh, probably 3. Master phase to get the skill card and one action to equip with the soul gem. Then a golconda and one action to (progeny?). Than you need to spend _another_ master phase to get a skill card to make it work the second time, and you get a second action, then golconda and an action. At which point, provided you took all three actions AND nobody blocked you AND nobody has bled you AND you've still got the soul gem, it's 6 or 7 turns into the game. Maybe 8, depending. And how many Obf skill cards do you plan to need? One for each Ulugh... I could seeing it working once, maybe twice. Sounds like fun, I just don't see it as a deck that can win (_TOO_ expensive if things go wrong). I'm sure others will disagree with me. Such is life. -spongy

Add minion taps, and the Arcane Libray to use on your spare Ulgh begs in the inactive region to add to your pool, thefts to fill up your Progeny at your preys expense as well. This is related to one of his betterones, except he used a lot of fortitude (restoration) also. I've seen that deck win against weenie bleed; S&B; Vote; and combat. Usually we never finish a game with it and after a certain point the remaining players yield. It is discouraging to bleed and have him just take it and still net a pool advantage. [ quoted text not captured ] What you are both forgetting mabe becauseit doesn't happen in your play group but what happens when your master cards start getting sudden reversaled? especially the Golconda one because it relys very heavily on that card you won't gain much when you opponents are doind that to you every round because they know what you are trying to do.
