Is there anyway that I could still obtain a copy or two of Meddling of
Semsith (just for the collection, you know)? Our prince here isn't
hosting a Storyline Tournament, much to our shagrin, and it's probably
too late to register for one and get the cards, right? Does anyone
have any they'd like to trade/sell? Yeah, I know this is wandering
somewhat offtopic here, but I figure that it's better to check here
than to get hosed on eBay or something.
Thanks!

I doubt that any of the Storyline tournament require pre-registration.
That's basically just for the larger conventions.
So you might want to check around and see if there are going to be any
within easy reach. Of course, if you provided us with your location,
someone might be able to point out whether any are going to be near you.

As a member of Sam's playgroup, I too am in the same situation, as I am
certain that many people are. Our city is not hosting a storyline event,
thus we do not have access to the promotional card "The Meddling of
Semsith". How may a copy of this new, promotional card be obtained? Like
Sam, I certainly do not wish to be bled dry via eBay in an auction spurred
on by demand over a promotional and free item, nor by individuals demanding
exorbinant amounts for the same reasons.
Help?
Cheers,
M.

I've checked the WW site listing, and IIRC the closest location to me
(Edmonton, Alberta) is Manitoba - some 14 hours or so away. The
nearest city with a Prince (Calgary) doesn't seem to have one either.
But hey, what can you do.
Which leads to a sort of followup question - What are the chances of
Meddling appearing in the Cam set, so isolated players have access to
it? Or is it strictly for the Storyline Tournaments?

It is promo-only.
That means it will never be printed in a set.
Just like Dan Murdock and Marianna Gilbert.
It is initially being released at Storyline Tournaments.
It may also be released at future tournaments or through other
promotional means.

Why hasn't the VEKN Prince of your city (btw, which one is it?)
organised a storyline event? It's really easy to do.
I guess it's not too late to do it yet.
You don't have a Prince? One of your group could apply as Prince.
And you don't even need to be a prince to organise a storyline event.

*Shrug* I don't know why our Prince (Kevin Wiebe) hasn't organized one.
A few of the players called for it back when it was announced last
year, but apparently nothing came of that. Could I, as Joe Q.
RandomJyhadPlayer, organize a Storyline Tournament for the end of
February and still secure the promo card? If so, how would I do this?

Indeed? It _may_ (emphasis mine) be released elsewhere, in the future, via
promotional means? Well, that is some consolation...though in the meantime,
players unable to attend these events due to geographic isolation shall have
to suffer as 'has-nots'. No SASE, akin to what WotC did for Dan Murdock and
Marianna Gilbert?
Drat.

Edmonton, Alberta. That's in Canada, folks, and our city's V:TES-related
activity is coordinated and implemented by Kevin Wiebe, who does one helluva
great job. I am unable to speak on behalf of Kevin in this matter, as I have
not had any recent communication with him -- my computer crashed and I lost
all the contact information for my playgroup (phone numbers, email
addresses), and the @home internet provider crumbled, taking with it my old
email accounts, making me largely unreachable.
Cheers,
M.

That's interesting. Doesn't this sort of imply that Dan and Marianna won't be
reprinted in the Camarilla set?

FYI:
The SASE option didn't become available from WotC until about a year after
On a Darkling Plain (the Dan Murdock novel) was released.
(Before anyone asks: WotC no longer has any in stock, so the SASE is no
longer an option for Dan Murdock nor for Mariana Gilbert.)

No promo-only cards will be printed in any set.
That's what "promo-only" means.

But it is theoretically possible that:
1.) Dan and Marianna will get printed and distributed in a promo-only fashion,
in accordance with their status?
2.) Is it possible for a promo-only card to have its status changed? If Dan and
Marianna are *changed* to non-promo-only, then they can be printed in any set.
Of course this might cause all sorts of logistical problems but it is at least
possible?

Well, nothing is guaranteed (in a few centuries, maybe H*Borg will control
the rights to VTES), but the idea is that "promo-only" isn't limited to
"right now". For instance, Lucita wasn't "promo-only", even for the
period between when she appeared as a promo and when she appeared in a
set.
There are no plans to reprint either of the WotC promo-only VTES cards at
this time, AFAIK.

Yes, theoretically. Check the White Wolf webpage. Contact LSJ.
I'm not sure about the prize support getting there in time, as generally 2
months lead is requested (for normal prize support), but perhaps something
can be arranged (delivery at a later date, or rush mail or something).

You don't need to be a prince to organize any sanctioned tournament,
either.

Wow! There's a STORY behind Dan?
Does anyone know what it is? I've always wondered about the whole
Giants Blood thing.

Been a while, and I only read the book once. So, I'm sure someone will correct
inaccuracies.
Dan was the abandoned childe of a Toreador Methusaleh. He ran around with his
superior Potence*, including throwing a well-aimed car. Late in the book he
gets a thing of Giant's Blood from his sire to help him complete his mission
(can't remember if it had to do with taking out the golden guy or not).
* Yes, vampires can increase their physical attributes. What I recall is him
using his superstrength casually and all of the time.
If the card had POT (bump his cap a bit), it would be fairly thematic as he
showed (really) weak levels of Auspex and Obfuscate.
