Two questions: 1. Can a vampire hunt even if it is at full capacity? (The rulebook mentions that hunting cannot take a vampire -over- its capacity, which seems to imply that this is a legal action.) 2. If the answer to #1 is "yes," then is this hunting action (when undertaken by a vamp at full capacity) considered a -successful- action? (IOW, can the vamp play a Freak Drive after such a hunt, since FD is conditional on the success of the action?) As always, thanks in advance. :-) apathy= --=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=-- "It is the business of the future to be dangerous" Alfred North Whitehead --=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--

In the actual online rulebook from LSJ it says that it is possible, but a vamp doesn't get blood then. This is different to the previous ruling, which said that a vamp wasn't allowed to hunt if at full cap. > > 2. Not unless forced to by a card played on a vampire (XTC Laced blood, for example). Noal -- "Excuse me. Are you a yuppie?" -woman at a gas station in Detroit [ quoted text not captured ]

Correct. -- digression follows, feel free to skip -- The "previous ruling" wasn't actually a "ruling" per se. It was just a result of the V:TES rulebook text: "Also, a vampire with a number of blood counters equal to his maximum capacity cannot hunt." [6.4] Which is an odd construction, anyhow: What "maximum capacity" refers to is probably "current capacity". (There is no "maximum capacity" - a vampire's capacity can reach arbitrary levels.) Anyhow - the Jyhad rulebook did not prohibit at-capacity-hunting, the V:TES rulebook did, and the current rulebook doesn't. No "ruling" was ever made - just a series of "clarifications" of the then-current rules. -- end digression -- > > 2. Yes-there are a few mastercards which could force you to hunt even if you can't gain blood from it. >2. If the answer to #1 is "yes," then is this hunting action (when undertaken by a vamp at full capacity) considered a -successful- action? (IOW, can the vamp >play a Freak Drive after such a hunt, since FD is conditional on the success of >the action?) Why yes he can.
