Just to be sure of a few things concerning everyone's favourite zombies : - If a SH dies and there's a Tension in the Ranks, do I lose a pool ? - Steal Blood strikes work on them ? And the vampire actually gains blood from sucking a zombie's veins ?? And BTW : Ranged strength damage strikes don't equal hand strikes, right ? Thanks, Orpheus, Doge of Marseille

Yes. per the rules. and also per commodity with the whole game : less complication, less hassle. > And BTW : Ranged strength damage strikes don't equal hand strikes, right ? nope. a ranged strike is not a hand strike . even if it is based on the striker's strength. a hand strike is any non-ranged, non-weapon, non-dodge strike based on the minion's strength. > Thanks, > > Orpheus, Doge of Marseille reyda, !salubri hero =)

Exactly what I thought, and the Tzimisce was all disapointed not to be able to augment his R strength with a "+1 hand damage" card (sorry for the lack of names, I hate Vicissitude and don't know its cards AT ALL). > > Thanks, > > > > Orpheus, Doge of Marseille > > reyda, !salubri hero =) Reyda, my Hero !!! ;-)

Body Arsenal (superior) and Horrid Form both give the vampire +1 strength, not +1 hand damage, so will add to the damage done by a Kraken's Kiss strike (strength+1 ranged damage). However, the Agg enhancement given by the inferior level of Body Arsenal will not be applied to the strength ranged damage of Kraken's Kiss, as it is only for hand strikes, which as we have established Kraken's Kiss is not. Kraken's Kiss [SW:C/PT] Cardtype: Combat Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Vicissitude [vic] Strike: strength+1 ranged damage. If this striking minion takes more than 3 damage this combat, he or she goes to torpor. [VIC] As above, with an optional press, only usable to continue combat, and once each round for the remainder of combat, this vampire may strike to steal two blood at close or long range. Horrid Form [Sabbat:U, SW:PT] Cardtype: Combat Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Vicissitude Only usable before range is chosen. [vic] This vampire gets +1 strength for the remainder of combat. [VIC] As above, and this vampire may prevent 1 damage each round for the remainder of combat. Body Arsenal [Sabbat:C, SW:PT2] Cardtype: Combat Cost: 2 blood Discipline: Vicissitude [vic] For the remainder of this round, damage from this vampire's hand strikes is aggravated. [VIC] As above, and this vampire gets +1 strength for the remainder of this combat. salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

A hand strike is any non-ranged, non-weapon strike that inflicts damage based on the striking minion's strength. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. I guess the player had Horrid Forms from Sabbat ? Non-errated ?? Lucky us it wasn't in tournament... Orpheus, still hating this discipline.

Meaning Stutter Step (superior) is a hand strike (as well as being a dodge strike), which is why Immortal Grapple got clarified. Instead of only being able to play hand strikes, you are not allowed to play strikes that aren't hand strikes. Which only makes a difference in the case where a strike is both a dodge and a hand strike at the same time: Stutter Step. [ quoted text not captured ]

It is a hand strike, so it would not be affected by that clarification. It is restricted by its card text, however, when faced with Immortal Grapple. [ quoted text not captured ]

Only now that you snuck a MRP in without me noticing. I'm pretty sure i recall that when Final Nights first came out, Immortal Grapple was the card that got ruled to prevent non-hand strike strikes to prevent stutter step being played, rather than stutter step itself.... sorry, my bad for not keeping up to speed. although on the bright side the end result was the same (this time....)
