Yes, it does. Unless a card says otherwise, you can target anyone with an action regardless of whether they are tapped or not eg Ambush, which is a form of rush (from the Sabbat expansion) can only target tapped vamps. Bum's rush does not say and so, therefore, can target either. For you to enter combat with a minion does not require them to untap. Admittedly, if they want to block an action they have to be untapped (or use a card to let them) but if I take an action to enter combat with them, they do not have to be untapped. So, I have Dre, Leader of the Cold Dawn and I think I can slaughter one of your vamps (Lucretia) with a few cards I have in my hand. Lucretia is tapped. I play a Bum's Rush and target Lucretia. Nobody blocks me, so I enter combat with Lucretia. However, I have Hector Sosa, and he wants to really punch Jost Werner's lights out with his Brass Knuckles (those pesky stealthy bleeds are hurting me a lot). Jost is *untapped* and so I play a Bum's Rush to enter combat with him. If Jost decides not to block, I enter combat with Jost who does not tap (entering combat is not blocking) and then we have a scrap. Why would Jost want to block? Well, if an action is not successful it's effects don't happen and then we go into combat. Bum's Rush, if successful, means I enter combat with Jost and get an optional maneuver (maybe I think Jost can get to range with a Fake Out so I need the maneuver to get back to close range). If Jost blocks, the Bum's Rush is aborted (assuming I have no stealth) and we go into combat. I have no maneuver since Bum's Rush provides a maneuver on the combat it creates. Since the Rush was aborted, that combat didn't happen. This is an entirely different combat so Jost, while tapped from blocking, goes into combat with me. Be warned, rushing an untapped vampire is a dangerous thing if you wanted to make sure of the maneuver. And don't forget, it isn't only Jost who could block. If you thought Ebanezer Roush could burn Hector and he was untapped you could block with him instead (and again, I have no maneuver) and if he was tapped you could wake (using a Wake with Evening's Freshness or Forced Awakening or whatever) and then block. I know this isn't exactly all to do with what you were asking but as it seems you're a bit of a newbie to V:TES (woohoo, people are still starting V:TES) I thought you'd appreciate a more detailed response (and it gives you a bit of an edge in a game when you know the rules better than other people). > >2, how does D actions work? Does a card that says 'any >(vamp/minion/etc..) may burn this card as a D action' mean that any >(v/m/etc) can attemp to burn it durring their turn, even if they don't >have a card with a D symbol on it? Ahh, but they do have a card with the (D) symbol on it - your card. If, for example, I put a haven uncovered on Masika, your vampire. That card can be burned by him as a +1 stealth (D) action - it says so on the Haven Uncovered. The Haven Uncovered itself provides this action so you don't need a card (admittedly, sometimes when you've got seven (D) cards in your hand which you can't use it would be nice to get rid of them but you can't). This applies to Army of Rats, also, which is a minion card, not a master card. With Elysium: The Arboretum, you simply tap a vampire (Camarilla because Camarilla membership has it's privileges (about the only decent part of the sabbat expansion)) and announce they are calling a vote to burn the Elysium. You don't have to play a Praxis Seizure: Houston and then say "Well actually I'm burning the Elysium" because people would get angry (they'd claim they thought you really were calling a Praxis Seizure and didn't block it but would have blocked an Elysium burning). > >Thanks again. > Todd > > -- James Coupe (remove .nospam to reply) Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see, one chants out between two worlds, `Fire walk with me`

Hi Todd, One note I would like to add here. You cannot (D) action yourself or a card you control. The only known exception to this (that I know of) is the card Rampage, which is the only card that expressly allows you to target yourself. This prevents you from using the (D) action on the Powerbase:Mexico, (or even Powerbase:Washington for that matter). You have to take what you can get the slow way. A funny example of this happened in our play group. Player A using Lasombra put a Haven Uncovered on Player B's Etrius. Player A then attacked Etrius (with one of his vamps) and put Etrius into torpor using an entombment. Player A then used another vamp to Graverob Etrius and brought him into his own controlled region...... .....Note that Etrius still had the Haven Uncovered on him. Since Player A controlled Etrius, and the Haven Uncovered, and he couldn't perform (D) actions against himself.....let's just say that Etrius had a great big neon arrow following him where-ever he went that he just couldn't get rid of. By missing the effect of that rule on his card combo Player A only got half of what he wanted. Yes he got Etrius, unfortunately the combat decks torporized Etrius before he could effectively use him. I hope this helps, Jaysen [ quoted text not captured ]

(uaually i don't even bother posting with my email address, because the way my uni is set up i have to reconfigure everytime i want to use bloody netscape...)(does anyone care?)

WotC card list: Haven Uncovered Master Master Put this card on any ready vampire. Any minion may enter combat with that vampire as a +1 stealth (D) action. That vampire can burn this card as a +1 stealth (D) action. I have my netscape configured with two "identities" - me and my netrep :-) I just reset my "home directory" (unix) before running netscape to force the use of the appropriate ~/.netscape information.
