LSJ~ Ublo Satha (the gargoyle), equiped with a sniper rifle, blocks Calien (the Nosferatu Archbishop who can set range), who has modified his action with Gang Tactics. Because of Gang Tactics, range is set to short. Can Ublo Satha set range to long with his sniper rifle? Can Calien set it back with his special ability? Can Ublo Satha set it back again with High Ground? ~Shankar Gupta

That means: -Declaring Manuevers -Declaring Strikes -Setting Range -Playing Amaranth before you can play Undead Persistance. -Playing Decapitate before you can play Undead Persistance. -Playing a Weather Control before you can play a Skin of Night. -- Comments Welcome, Norman S. I saw a player blow himself up in the last tournament by playing the weather control before he played the skin of night. He thought that if he had played them in reverse order that he would have been okay. Instead he played Weather control First, then played the Skin of Night. It was my understanding that Weather Control's damage is a special case and happens when the card is played. LSJ? As such Skin of Night says "for the remainder of the remainder of the round", so if you played Weather Control before you played Skin of Night under a Dawn Operation then the acting vampire blows himself up. WC sets up an effect which is to be applied "before range is determined each round", by card text. > As such Skin of Night says "for the > remainder of the remainder of the round", so if you played Weather Control > before you played Skin of Night under a Dawn Operation then the acting > vampire blows himself up. Not true. Damage application and damage handling are done in sequence (allowing for damage prevention, Skin of Night, etc.) [ quoted text not captured ]

[ quoted text not captured ] You imply that the acting vampuire can also play Undead PersistEnce before you can play Amaranth or Decapitate...not my understanding. LSJ?

I thought once range was set "first", it could not be re-set (no specific card text needed). -- -Snapcase

See also Wake vs. Continue Action as if unblocked. [ quoted text not captured ]

Damage application and damage handling are done in sequence > (allowing for damage prevention, Skin of Night, etc.) If I understand this correctly, a damage resolution step [6.4.6] exists for Weather Control damage, even though it's not during strike resolution. The placement of the "Damage Resolution" section in the rulebook might seem to imply that it's only talking about damage from strikes, but it makes sense that in fact it covers all damage in combat - any time damage is taken, even if it's not preventable, you get the two steps of "prevent damage" and "heal damage". So a non-active Methuselah could play Skin of Night before getting to the point where you try to heal Weather Control damage, even though the active Methuselah can sequence (I believe) the Weather Control damage to occur immediately after playing the Weather Control card. Josh quel dommage!
