I didn't want to start another thread, but apparently Google Groups don't allow to reply to the messages from May 2007 anymore :( I'm moving from Poland to New Zealand in September and I want to show up on Australian Championship on my way there. As far as I know, I can attend AC after I've qualified in Polish ECQ this year but I wanted to make sure about that before I spend another 3.5h on the plane (after other 26 hours ;P). So, can anyone confirm that? Also, I can't find any information about the place of the event. Is http://www.freewebs.com/outback295/2007australianchampionship.htm the official website of AC'07 and this information will be put there? Do you know any cheap hotels near the place of the tournament? Thanks in advance for the answers. -- Cheers, Bartłomiej "veyDer" Rudzki

So, can anyone confirm that? If you qualify at any Continental Championship Qualifier, then you qualify for all Continental Championships. So, yes, if you qualified at the Polish ECQ, then you are qualified for the Australian Continental Championship. > Also, I can't find any information about the place of the event. Best bet is to contact him. Good luck! Have fun! - Ben Peal, US National Coordinator

With the caveat that the Australian qualification limit is different than the others. So, while qualifying for the EC means that you qualify for the AC, the important bit is that qualifying for the AC doesn't necessarily mean than you're qualified for the EC. (It doesn't matter in your case, since you're qualified for the EC) See http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/index.php?line=Championship

If you have any questions what so ever (for example accomodation etc) you can contact Chris Arthur our NC or myself (Prince of Sydney). It is being held near the center of the city so should be accessible by International visitors without much of a hassle. Our train system (although not always on time) runs right to the city center from the Airport and is faster and cheaper than a taxi cab. Of course if you're going to share a cab with others it may be cheaper that way. Regards, David V. Vega Prince of Sydney, Australia

I'm crossing the ditch as well with two other guys from NZ so see you in Sydney! Simon

The location is: Good Games Level 1 857 George St. Sydney. It's near the CBD. www.goodgames.com.au 9am Saturday and Sunday 29/30 September. > > Thanks in advance for the answers. > Hope to see you there! Chris. Australian National Coordinator

Just to confirm after I accidently held people up a bit in Melbourne, is that a 9am start so try to arrive about 8:30? Sorry if that's on the website, I can't get there from work (or white-wolf or theLasombra but I can use YouTube?!) and I'm running a bit short of time before I fly over tomorrow. See everyone on Saturday! Simon

Good question - I've tried to quickly find an answer before I head home from work, but haven't been able too. It would be safe to assume 9, that way you'll only be early or on time, not late or on time. I'll be staying with some of the Sydney Players, and participating in Friday Night games, so I guess I'll find out when I get down there how much sleeping time I will have Saturday morning. --> J grail_pbem "at" hotmail.com

Further, coz I don't know if this has been posted here (if it has I apologise for the duplicate), but this is a posting from the organiser David Vega to the http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/vtes-sydney forum: Greetings All, so its a week away for the nationals and I thought I'd this message out there so we do not get surprises/complaints on the days. What you might deem "house rules" ================================= No PRINTED deck list, no play allowed. We would of course prefer them all to be in a standard format from one of the many programs out there, however we cannot assume everyone has access to such software. But we have in the past received some really badly handwritten lists and legibility is a requirement this time around. All cards, unless announced otherwise, are played at the superior version if the playing minion has the superior discipline, or the inferior version if the minion has the inferior discipline. If unsure, state your action with all pertinent information and all modifier information as you play it. An invalidly played card is retrieved into your hand and the card you drew to replace it is shuffled back into your library - you do not have to show anyone what you drew (in fact showing your cards is illegal per Tournament Rules). The incident must be reported to a judge and a warning will be issued for the situation. If you cannot remember which card you drew, a random card from your hand, excluding the invalid play, will be chosen by your predator. There is no true Warning system inherent in the Tournament Rules. It is up the the Judge to handle Warnings, Penalties and so forth. Do not rely on a 3 warnings and you are out concept, do not think your warnings reset between games - the judge will decide if the previous warning(s) should have been sufficient for you to know what you did incorrectly. If you are on a table that you deem is spending too much time making a deal that is going back and forth without obvious conclusion, call the judge otherwise you cannot complain about it afterwards. The judge will then determine the futility of the deal attempt or otherwise. There is a precedent that if you allow something to happen you cannot then complain about it later. At a minimum, the judge will not listen to complaints until it hits 5 minutes of banter. In a similar vein, if you believe someone to be time wasting you need to report it to the judge. If you do not then the judge cannot be responsible for keeping play orderly. Finally, if you are relying on any recent ruling overturns or statements by LSJ in your deck, come prepared with a print out of the relevant information. Although the judge has made every attempt at keeping up to date with all rules, it is possible that one or two may have slipped through the cracks in the internet. Remember overturns do not come into force until 30 days after their announcement. Regards, David V Vega [ quoted text not captured ]

Yeah my thought too. Thanks. Just saw note about printed deck list which is a bit unfortunate, I haven't decided what to play so will have to write them all up... The other boys from NZ left on the 6am flight (get to the airport 4am - fools!) so might not know about that either, I think they're going along to the games tonight so if you see them can you pass that on?
