Further, coz I don't know if this has been posted here (if it has I
apologise for the duplicate), but this is a posting from the organiser
David Vega to the
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/vtes-sydney forum:
Greetings All,
so its a week away for the nationals and I thought I'd this message
out there so we do not get surprises/complaints on the days.
What you might deem "house rules"
=================================
No PRINTED deck list, no play allowed. We would of course prefer them
all to be in a standard format from one of the many programs out
there, however we cannot assume everyone has access to such software.
But we have in the past received some really badly handwritten lists
and legibility is a requirement this time around.
All cards, unless announced otherwise, are played at the superior
version if the playing minion has the superior discipline, or the
inferior version if the minion has the inferior discipline. If unsure,
state your action with all pertinent information and all modifier
information as you play it.
An invalidly played card is retrieved into your hand and the card you
drew to replace it is shuffled back into your library - you do not
have to show anyone what you drew (in fact showing your cards is
illegal per Tournament Rules). The incident must be reported to a
judge and a warning will be issued for the situation. If you cannot
remember which card you drew, a random card from your hand, excluding
the invalid play, will be chosen by your predator.
There is no true Warning system inherent in the Tournament Rules. It
is up the the Judge to handle Warnings, Penalties and so forth. Do not
rely on a 3 warnings and you are out concept, do not think your
warnings reset between games - the judge will decide if the previous
warning(s) should have been sufficient for you to know what you did
incorrectly.
If you are on a table that you deem is spending too much time making a
deal that is going back and forth without obvious conclusion, call the
judge otherwise you cannot complain about it afterwards. The judge
will then determine the futility of the deal attempt or otherwise.
There is a precedent that if you allow something to happen you cannot
then complain about it later. At a minimum, the judge will not listen
to complaints until it hits 5 minutes of banter.
In a similar vein, if you believe someone to be time wasting you need
to report it to the judge. If you do not then the judge cannot be
responsible for keeping play orderly.
Finally, if you are relying on any recent ruling overturns or
statements by LSJ in your deck, come prepared with a print out of the
relevant information. Although the judge has made every attempt at
keeping up to date with all rules, it is possible that one or two may
have slipped through the cracks in the internet. Remember overturns do
not come into force until 30 days after their announcement.
Regards,
David V Vega
