Huitzilopochtli Baali 10 blood OBF PRE DAI DOM POT AUS Infernal, +1 bleed, and during your master phase you may burn a pool to gain a master phase if Huitzilopochtli is ready it seems that one must pay one or tap all of his infernal at the beginning of his master phase.. what do you think of them ?

The Baron is the sort of cartoony stuff that sank On the Edge. Huitzilopochtli is a ludicrous Shy piece - the usual sepia head with black eyes. No discernable Aztec theme but the guy does have a pair of fake-looking ram's horns. Echoes of a depressing show I watched last night called Orcadia. Supposedly a comedy, it showed two women losers playing a LARP, trying to get a kick from equally lame guys dressed in horns as Herne the Hunter. A real downer. WW clearly need to be roasted hard about this otherwise we're going to get keep getting more of the same. The Lasombra says that no-one with any influence reads this newsgroup. How can we get this message across? Andrew

However, hopefully something will happen to get them to start using other artist's works. I'm getting so sick of seeing a majority of the art coming from Shy and Snelly. I've only seen very few pieces by either that were even halfway decent. > The Lasombra says that no-one with any influence reads this newsgroup. I wouldn't say that. LSJ reads the NG. thoughts, thoughts, thoughts.... > The Baron > Samedi > 9 Blood > OBF THAN NEC FOR dom > 2 votes, +1 bleed, during your untap phase, if the Baron is ready you > may > look at the hand of each Methuselah controlling a rwady Giovanni. > The Ventrue are going to get on famously with this gentleman. Goes well with Arika and Queen Anne and has 2 votes and 2 bleed. the special ability is bollocks and superior NEC is never going to set the world on fire, but all in all a powerful yet well balanced vampire. Nice job WW. As for how powerful Thanatosis turns out to be is anyones guess, but the obf/for/dom discipline spread just got a lot more viable. He does have THAN though, and there is likely to be a limited number of vampires with access to teh superior discipline given the lack of vamps/clan and the (relatively) large number of clans in this set seen so far. > Huitzilopochtli > Baali > 10 blood > OBF PRE DAI DOM POT AUS > Infernal, +1 bleed, and during your master phase you may burn a pool > to gain > a master phase if Huitzilopochtli is ready > Ugh!....too...many...disciplines... He fits into a variety to 3/4 skill decks and may be one of the only DAI options available, but even so. No votes, 10 cap, costs you 1 a turn and has a dodgey special. Unless Daimoininion (whatever) gives him some combat options I can see him getting beaten on too. I remain unconvinced about this dude. > > it seems that one must pay one or tap all of his infernal at the > beginning of his master phase.. > > what do you think of them ? All very interesting. I did this for a friend of mine, though she and I remain unconvinced that WW is really looking for new (unknown) artists. Seems like the gaming industry has forgotten that untill Magic came out, you never heard of most of these people before (Shy, Snelly, Hoover, etc..). You'd think that game companies would cultivate new talent while they're still affordable. Harumpf, Bernie B.

You can complain to L. Scott Johnson or Steve Wieck, but Rich Thomas and Brian Glass are the only ones responsible for the desicions on the artwork. Carpe noctem. Oh, I have plans for The Baron, yes I do...he fits beautifully with Potchtli (NEC OBF POT dom) and with Egothha (AUS FOR NEC obf) in a NEC OBF deck with maybe some dom and FOR toys. > Huitzilopochtli > Baali > 10 blood > OBF PRE DAI DOM POT AUS > Infernal, +1 bleed, and during your master phase you may burn a pool > to gain a master phase if Huitzilopochtli is ready > it seems that one must pay one or tap all of his infernal at the > beginning of his master phase.. Big vamp! Big weakness! I love it! Five beloved superior disciplines, plus DAI which will surely add some spice. Not sure what the weakness means, though. Controller must pay one pool, or Infernal vamps must pay one blood?

Do a few nasty Dominate based bleeds. If blocked, stealth them (for expedience) or play Dawn Operation. Go into combat. Prevent their damage, send them to torpor. Sacrificial Lamb blood gain. Minion Tap pool gain. Daemonic Possession. (Stealth as necessary.) That confirms my hunch that necromancy will at least be on a smattering of the Samedi, if not a significant number. You can only burn pool one time per master phase to gain a master phase action. Note the text "during" X "you may" Y. "During phase X, do Y" limits Y to once per phase X. [LSJ 19970625] http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/rulings.html You can get 5 total master phase actions now. One (normal) Two (Anson or Rumors of Gehenna - not one for each) Three (The Parthenon) Four (Sarrasine) Five (Huitzilopochtli) [ quoted text not captured ]

(what issue?). And um... what's DAI and THAN? ANd wow... I haven't seen ANY vampire with 6 disc in the superior... Thats impressive... And with AUS (a pulse), PRE (aire to elation), Govern with command of the beast and govern... that's a lotta bleed. all at +whatever stealth you can muster from OBF... and his extra masterage can get you both a sudden reversal and a continquency plans. No deflect and no archon inverstigation... interesting. Add obeys to stay out of combat and delaying tactics to keep politics out of play, and you have a 10 cap horror. Just thoughts... ~SV
