Just something I thought of that I wanted to make sure with the new cards. In the RPG, Black Hand could also be of different sects. Secret Camarilla members for example. In the card game, it was already determined that a Sabbat Black Hand vampire can go anarch and retain its Black Hand status. You need to be sabbat to go black hand, but not to maintain it. Well saw some silly tricks with Cadet and certain vampires that have a common ability, i.e. Advanced. Cadet Master. Triffle. Put this card on a Sabbat vampire in your uncontrolled region who is not Black Hand. While this Sabbat vampire is controlled, he or she is Black Hand. This card remains in play, even the vampire is in the uncontrolled region. A minion can only have one Cadet. So its interesting that for some vamps as: Valerius Maior, Hell`s Fool (ADV) Dominique Dominique (ADV) Lambach You can play Cadet on the uncontrolled sabbat vamp, and then when you merge they become Non sabbat and still have black hand status. [Secret training... dun dun dun...] And my favorite... Goratrix That's right, merge and get a Camarilla Black Hand Vamp. Secret training indeed... I'm pretty sure this is correct. [I hope] LSJ?

You need to be > sabbat to go black hand, but not to maintain it. Depends on card text. With Blooding, for example, card text specifies that it only works while the vampire is Sabbat. Vampires printed with "Black Hand" in their card text, though, have (so far) had no such condition -- they'd remain Black Hand regardless of their sect. > Well saw some silly tricks with Cadet and certain vampires that have a > common ability, i.e. Advanced. > > Cadet > Master. [I hope] LSJ? No. Card text: "while this Sabbat vampire is controlled..." When merged, the vampire is no longer "this Sabbat vampire" (since he's not Sabbat), so the effect doesn't apply. You can get Camarilla Black Hand vampires, though -- just take a vampire whose card text has "Black Hand" and Clan Impersonate to change clans to a clan whose default sect is Camarilla.

But, hmm.. if a Cadet is on an uncontrolled advanced version of, say, Sebastian Goulet, and you control the base version, then you Merge him, does the Cadet stick to the merged vampire? If yes, is it also true if you do the Merge with Epiphany?

Other cards/counters on it are lost (burned). http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/59974f27bc82f19b http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad/msg/0176502055ab613e

Couldn't you also use Out of the Frying Pan? Trifle Choose a ready Sabbat vampire you control. That vampire becomes Camarilla. (his or her clan is not affected.) -Dave Clooney

Yes. The example was an example, not intended to be an exhaustive list.

Requires a Black Hand vampire. Put this card on a younger non-Black Hand vampire who has performed a successful action this turn, and untap that vampire. The vampire with this card is Black Hand. If it is correct, then it appears to be able to confer Black Hand status onto members of any sect, even if you don't control them. (Though as this doesn't make them Sabbat or anything, I guess there's no real downside to Elimelech with a skill card deciding that Arika should join the club...) Odd. Alex

[ quoted text not captured ] the only current exception of getting a straight-outta-tha-crypt non-BH vampire to become BH, and then be able to switch sects and retain BH trait, is Trophy: Chosen. it says "the vampire with this card is Black Hand." though, it is a very interesting way to do stupid pet tricks. take Arika, Into the Fire, do a Blooding, gain Trophy: Chosen somehow, drop an Out of the Frying Pan (which burns Blooding). her title reactivates, Trophy: Chosen triggered previously and gave Seraph to her, and it stays and keeps her BH trait. BH Seraph IC member.... whee! now the impressive part would be making all this effort worthwhile in a deck.
