So Beckett's pretty funny. Slightly under costed with the latest of costings, but still good. Now the mix of animalism celerity gets higher. PS, I'm glad his ability doesn't cost a blood (cause I'm going to freak drive after that pseudo distraction, that's for sure). No problems with Gangrel being independent. I figured as such with the printing of Xavier we saw months ago. Furthermore. Am I to now believe that Beckett won't be in the actual Anarch set, and he'll be in the starters? (he's either been ommited on accident from the checklist, the checklist isn't in alphabetical order, or this implies he's not actually in the set and is in the starters). ~SV

I think recently effort has been made to mix the clans and their "anti" counterparts (like Ventrue with Aus and !Ventrue with Pre), looks like the same may be on the way for Gangrels. > No problems with Gangrel being independent. If Independant Lasombra Lucita Embraces, will the Lasombra progeny be Sabbat or Independant ? Same question goes of course now for Gangrel Camarilla Princes... Orpheus

Thus, he gets 8 points of stuff. Don't current 7 point vampires always get 8 points of stuff? I think he's just fine - not undercosted or overcosted - just right... Halcyan 2

The ability to cycle cards is often underestimated but is (at least in my opinion) quite strong. It doesn´t allow you to vote something down or intercept an action but it help you in controlling "the flow" of your deck and that can prove crucial in quite a few situations. johannes walch

[ quoted text not captured ] To take it even further : Carnas abilities require some "external input", stealth to use the intercept, the existence of a stupid retainer on her or somebody (probably you) voting. The distraction ability of Beckett requires nothing to be used (except of a ready, untapped Beckett) so it can be used at almost any time during your turn. And it does not only give you the opportunity to cycle 3 cards. With Freak Drive, Stealth ... it can be even more. johannes walch P.S : Is answering your own posts the indication of some state of mental disorder ?!?

Don't forget that the Gangrel make excellent defence bunnies, even while tapped. Obvious other applications include Carrion Coffin/Homunculus, Metro Underground (I keep wanting to use it, and then decide it's too expensive), wake, Cats' Guidance, Rat's Warning/Guard Dogs, etc. If you decide to make one vampire an intercept/untap monkey, it could very well be Beckett. Of course, that makes you rather vulnerable to Seduction, Call of the Hungry Dead etc., but them's the breaks. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D Lucky that my breasts are small and humble, EBD690ECD7A1FB457CA2 So you don't confuse them with mountains. 13D7E668C3695D623D5D

I'm using it as a deterrent for bleeding in numerous bounce decks, 'cause when you untap someone wirh AUS or dom at the end of your turn, odds are they won't bleed you. It also gives you the opportunity to take one more action, at the cost of one pool. In special cases, like in a true brujah deck, it gives you the opportunity to play some reaction cards like Rewind Time more easily. Last argument : It's free, and putting one instead of a forced awakening in your deck never hurts. =)

If he is undercosted, that means that he is too cheap--i.e. he gets too much stuff for what he pays. Anvil and Jimmy Dunn are undercosted. If you think he is underpowered, i.e. he is a 7 that gets 7 points in skills and a special that you don't think is worth a full point, then Beckett is overcosted--he pays too much for what he gets. Nakova and Judah are overcosted. [ quoted text not captured ]

The first two are (in my opinion) good, haven't gotten my hand on the third yet. There is a vampire named Becket there who is a collector of information and he is Gangrel.
