What I know is: After one minion bleeds and untaps with Freak Drive, it is not allowed to bleed again with some different card e. g. Computer Hacking. Question: What about attack or political actions? Is it a repeated action when I call PS: Berlin and then PS: Frankfurt or KRC? Is it a repeated action when I attack with Bum's rush and then with Wynn's special? Does the target of the action matter? -Markus

"Class" in this case includes Political Actions, Retainers, Allies, Bleeding, Hunting, Equipping, etc. If a card doesn't belong to a particular grouping/class (like Bum's Rush), then it's considered it's own class. (Note that "class" isn't a technical term. Just used here for convenience). >Is it a repeated action when I call PS: Berlin and then PS: Frankfurt or >KRC? Yes, because they're all political actions. >Is it a repeated action when I attack with Bum's rush and then with >Wynn's special? No. The Bum's Rush is considered one type of action, while Wynn's special is considered another. Similarly, you could then attack with an Ambush, and then with a Haven's Uncovered. >Does the target of the action matter? No, the target isn't important. It's the type of action that restricts what is a "repeat action." Hope that helps! Halcyan 2

(Note that "class" isn't a > technical term. Just used here for convenience). The "technical" term for "class" here is "type". Note: Bum's Rush is its own type by card name (so all Bum's Rushes are the same type, but are different from the "Ambush" type). However, non-typed actions allowed by cards in play (like Haven Uncovered) are types of their own, by the specific instance of the card in play. So entering combat via one Haven Uncovered is a different type of action than entering combat via a second Haven Uncovered. All of this is explained in the V:EKN Rules: 6.4.1. No Repeat Actions A given minion may not repeat an action, by action type, in a single turn (whether the first action was successful or not). The defined "action types" are the ones defined in the rulebook: bleed, hunt, equip, employ retainer, recruit ally, political action, leave torpor, rescue a vampire from torpor, and diablerize a vampire in torpor. If an action card is used to perform one of these actions, that action is considered to be of that type. If it is not one of those actions (such as Bum's Rush), then it is a type of its own, by card name. If a card in play is used to perform one of these actions, that action is considered to be of that type. If it is not one of these actions (such as "enter combat via Haven Uncovered"), then it is a type of its own, by specific instance of the card in play. Example: A vampire who bleeds his controller's prey via Computer Hacking, then untaps via Freak Drive, cannot perform any bleeding action again, of any kind whatsoever, in that same turn. > >Is it a repeated action when I call PS: Berlin and then PS: Frankfurt or > >KRC? > > Yes, because they're all political actions. <snip> The basic rule-of-thumb for the repeat actions is that a minion cannot perform any actiontype which are classified in the rulebook. As attacking a minion is not one of those actiontypes, a minion is not prohibited from performing 2 or more different card or ability-based attacking actions. And as bleed actions are one of the specified actions, a minion that has already performed a bleed action, succesfully or not, cannot perform any action with or without a card that says *Bleed* This also holds for Political actions and so on. In article <8g8so7$c2f$1...@nnrp1.deja.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] For clarification then, are you allowed to bleed with Govern the Unaligned, untap (through whatever means) and use a Govern the Unaligned at superior? I would believe you could as the actions are different even though the action card used is the same. Michael Eichler -- Worry comes from the belief you are powerless. (So get in there and kick some butt!) [ quoted text not captured ]

Since "GtU" is the same action as "GtU" (action cards bearing the same name are the same action for purposes of this discussion - and for cards like Change of Target and Obedience), it follows that they are of the same type, even though one is also a "bleed" type action and the other is just a type of its own. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
