Shadow step Vs High Ground

I assume the acting meth being the first person to have a chance at playing "before range" cards would set the range using either card which would then "set" the range for that round, and I assume again that Caliean would then cancel either of these with his ability?? Not quite. "before range is determined" and "beginning of round" and all that are the same thing in this instance. Once range is set by someone, it is set. Acting vampire gets to play a card first, so they get first crack at setting range. So if the acting minion has flight and High Ground, it doesn't matter if they're against Cailean.
