I've run into a couple questions in that past few weeks: 1) Concerning the card Soul Stealing-- Who is eligible to play this card???? Is it only the Vampire doing the burning or can another vampire play this card??? In the latter case who recieves the blood??? The wording implies that the burning vampire does. Also can it be played in someone elses turn?? 2) This is kind of a dumb question but I haven't been able to locate the rules concerning it. When recieveing ranged damage, who decides if a retainer takes the damage?? ********************************************************************** "...I'm just a hard-working girl trying to make it in a man's world." -Catwoman (Issue #30) *************************************** Dharia McGrew damc...@mhc.mtholyoke.edu and of course.....(in other words, LOOK AT IT!!!!) http://www.mtholyoke.edu/~damcgrew **********************************************************************

Action modifiers can only be played on your own turn (even if you take an action during someone else's turn). >2) This is kind of a dumb question but I haven't been able to locate the > rules concerning it. Is this a new rule from V:tES? I dredged up my old copy of "The Eternal Struggle: A players guide to Jyhad" and on a section about ranged combat it says: "Also, at ranged combat, you can allow your retainers to take the hit for you. . ." If it has been changed I'd like to know why. It seems straightforward enough and I can't imagine it being too degenerate. It'd certainly make ghoul escort more popular! > -- > L. I thought that the damage had to be ranged, not that the combat had to be at long and the damage ranged. In other words, can't I throw a sewer lid at a faithful retainer even though her boss is clawing at my face? Well, you can't throw a sewer lid at close range to begin with (card text on Sewer Lid prevents this). But, yes, it is a change in the way things are handled (from Jyhad to VtES). You can't shoot (or throw a gate, or have bats attack) a retainer whose employer is standing in your face. (Idea being that you're too concerned with HTH combat that you can't properly target the retainer). [ quoted text not captured ]
