The Rack and a stolen vampire

So this came up last night: I control Chaundice. I control The Rack pointed at Chaundice. Chaundice gets stolen by John with Form of Corruption. Since The Rack isn't "on" Chaundice, I still control it. And it still gives blood to Chaundice. So the question is, during which Methuselah's untap phase does he gain 2 blood? Rack card text - emphasis mine: When this card is played or the controller of this card changes, the controller chooses a ready vampire he or she controls. During THE CONTROLLER's untap phase, the chosen vampire gains 2 blood. A vampire controlled by another Methuselah can steal this location for his or her controller +as a (D) action. Who is "The Controller" in this case? The Controller of The Rack? or The Controller of Chaundice? We ruled that the blood would be gained during the untap phase of the controller of The Rack (me). But it is kind of ambiguous text for this odd case.
