Hello again.
I have modified the ELDB site and have also set up a sneak preview
slideshow to showcase the new features available in ELDB 3.0. You can
check out the slideshow at http://people.atl.mediaone.net/intj/eldb/
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, in 800x600, this slide-show is unusable. :(

Is it just me or do you know more about BB than we do. The slides
have a salubri antitribu, a HoS, a myth/dom card.

This looks excellent !
My favorite screenshot is number 10 : library card selection in the deck
builder. It features a little green box summing up the number of cards by
discipline. Great !
All we need now is a Happy Families automated calculator, giving suggested
values for this green box based on crypt selection... :p (Don't know if it
should go into ELDB. And it's probably a bit late to propose new features,
but anyway...)
Thank you very much for all you work David ! :)

That is not totally true. Instead of clicking on the link right click, and
'Open in new window' You should get scroll bars so that you can scroll
around the oversized pics. Someone doesn't build for the lowest common
denominator! Those of us with tiny screens unite! :)

Unfortunately, there is not much I can do except recommend that you
change your resolution to at least 1024x768. 8)
Good luck,

Thanks Aaron. That helped a lot!
I'm also a bit curious how David got some of the information. I'm really
excited about the supposed text for Absorb the Mind. A Dodge for Dominate! No
cost and apparently usable with just inferior. While I'm not exactly sure
Dominate needed it (now they can Obedience you OR Dodge), the Tremere really
needed it! (No longer do you need AUS for a stinkin' dodge!).

Doesn't David play in the Atlanta playgroup? In that group Todd Banister
plays too, who works for White Wolf. I guess his group helped in
playtesting?

Looks very nice. I also am wondering about the !Sal, the Harbinger,
and the dom/myt card. Who do you have to give a hand job to to get
access to that kind of info?
And no praise is complete without a complaint, so on the wish list for
3.01... it'd be nice if you could have the deck print out in a format
that could be cut and pasted for deckserver registration. One card
per line, card name only.
But it's not that hard to do it by hand, and I guess I could always
just write a program to do it (I used to have a pretty neat little
QBASIC deckbuilder... it didn't know the names of the cards - you just
had to type your deck in, but I concentrated more on draw-testing
features, and on getting it finished in about an hour).

Oh thought he did, well he knows people from the WW though (I think?). The
point is anyway that they probably helped playtest the cards.

Do you mean for JOL? If so, where would I be able to find a complete
specification for how to format the deck output for that purpose?
Thanks,
David

Look under the two "Basic JOL commands": LIBRARY and CRYPT
(They come with small example "decks" as well)

The only thing it needs is the name - everything else is a nicety. So
the name on one line, a few key points for vampires (disciplines etc.),
perhaps the type and requirement of a discipline card or something.
It is wrapped round with the LIBRARY and ENDREG commands (or CRYPT and
ENDREG). But simply having the text, one card per line, with
repetitions for each card (so instead of writing "8 Conditioning", you
have the card appear 8 times) is sufficient.

He's probably an super-sexy alien from another galaxy, but that is just
speculation. The only playtester that I know of is Noal McDonald who said
he was. You should probably ask him.

I wasn't the one wondering inthe first case ;) I don't really who is a
playtester as long as he's competent. Which I believe both David and Noal
are (without knowing any of them).

That looks very simple. I'll go ahead and add that for version 3.0 this weekend.

Noal who? This Noal McDonald here in Detroit? This Noal just stands around
with his hand on his head drooling.
No, these are not the Noals you are looking for. Move along.....

Well, that's probably better than if he were standing around with his

I would have to read that first to make some determination.
But, having known Noal, and currently still knowing Noal, he is a very

Yes I know they most likely are under some kind of NDA or that their silence
is at least taken for granted. It's "prrof" enough they yet ahven't
commented anything of this ;) But as I said, I don't care who is and who is
not a long as they do a good job! :) With FN they did a great job at least.

Well back from the Prerelease. I woul dhave to say that they did a good
job on the BL cards also, and as much as I HATE to say it C. Shy's
artwork on the gargoyles looks wonderful. However his vampire
depictions still look like faded water colors.

Do you have the stats of Ferox? I'd like to know them, been curious since I
read his name on the cardlist.

Awww, But I kind of liked the fuzzy gargoyle theme. I sort of expected
stone like gargoyles in the dead of night, lingering on parapets to have
this out of focus character. It really fit thematically.
