I may have asked this before, but I couldn't find it on the Rulesmonger mirror page, so I'm asking now: Can you use Skin of Steel (inferior) to prevent the damage being done to a vampire by a strike he/she played? Example: Muaziz plays Burst of Sunlight. Can she use Skin of Steel to prevent the agg being done to her? Thanks, Josh still can't quite get that weather control/dawn op deck to work

No. "damage from a strike" only includes the damage dealt by the strike to the opposing minion. It does not include side-effect damage, like from Burst of Sunlight or from a Zip Gun. -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@wizards.com) : Official VtES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. : (*) - Subject to review by Rules Team I'm willing to accept the ruling, but these cases don't look entirely congruent to me. Zip Gun says the minion with the weapon "takes 1 damage during strike resolution"; Burst of Sunlight (vtes) says "Strike: 1R, aggravated, to all vampires in combat". So while the Zip Gun damage is clearly a side-effect, the Burst looks to me like it is being inflicted by a strike. But if Skin of Steel (and similar cards) are meant to apply only to damage done by opponents' strikes, that's fine too. Josh probably going to take this silly deck apart anyway; that whole burst/skin of night/dawn op/weather control angle is so not working for me...
