Question - the rulebook for V:TES is rather unrevealing about whether or not range is reset to close for each round of combat. [under Jyhad rules, everyone I know played that it did reset, but the ambiguity is causing some strife at the local games club (The Elysium, Halifax, Nova Scotia)] On a related note, where might I find an updated FAQ and the latest rulings? The WotC site doesn't seem to have them and www.itis.com is hopelessly out of date. :(

Each round of combat begins at close range. This is errata to the rulebook :( > On a related note, where might I find an updated FAQ and the latest >rulings? Otherwise Vampiric Disease and Pulled Fangs have some decidedly bizarre results (e.g., Diseases always spread, and you can Pulled Fangs after Weather Control).

Cards like Vampiric Disease and Pulled Fangs, that can only be used under certain conditions, can only be used if you know that that condition is true. You can't use an ability that is only usable if unblocked immediately after declaring an action, since you wouldn't know right away whether the action was blocked or not. Similarly, you don't know for sure as soon as a round starts whether it is at close range (Vampiric Disease), or which minion will inflict more damage than the other (Pulled Fangs), so you can't use cards that depend on that information right away. Given this, saying that each round starts at close range doesn't cause any problems. [ quoted text not captured ]

Can't get through for some reason ever since the freenet I'm on changed providers *grumble*. [IMHO, WotC should get a page set up for V:TES]

In article <49nj4t$q...@ra.isisnet.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Agreed. It is rather disparaging to go to the WotC homepage (http://www.wizards.com) and look at the "Products" list: 1. Primal Order. The Official Wizards Capsystems home page. 2. The Great Dalmuti (TM) 3. Magic: The Gathering 4. Mythic Europe(TM): the Ars Magica home page 5. The SLA Industries(TM) I /thought/ VtES was a WotC product, but obviously I was wrong. At least they include a link to the www.itis.com Jyhad page (which is woefully outdated). WotC, you're welcome to borrow from my VtES page if you lack the manpower to support this game internally. -- ----- L. At this point, no WotC product has a thrilling representation on the web site, and that includes Magic. However, an extensive internal web site is being developed, and this is supposed to include V:TES material. At some point the whole thing will be released at once, but I don't know when that will be.
