TGOS has been spamming some other NGs i look at, and i've just noticed a message from him on this one. Apparently, if your newsreader is "java-script-enabled" these messages can take your computer into a tiresome loop where you will keep on getting porn site pages which you can't close except by shutting down your browser and/or computer and restarting. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG

One way to get out should be to disable javascript when you notice the looping process. Then as you close the pop-ups, the new ones (popped-up by the still-running javsacript from the old ones) won't have the javascript executed and eventually will become extinct as you continue closing them. Then you can turn javascript back on. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Then you can turn javascript back on. > Also closing the internet connection works also. Without an active connection the additional popped up pages cannot spawn new pop up pages. Actually I prefer to cancel the pop ups as they occur. Gives me a arcade game feel to the computer as I rush to close windows before that new window can spawn another. My mouse clicking skills and unparalled! Raille

[ quoted text not captured ] Hard to believe I forgot that. I've found most windows pop up in the same location and you can position your mouse there. Also a right click on the tool bar at the bottom gets a close option thats always, (at least on my machine) pops up right next to the mouse with the close window option. Raille

[ quoted text not captured ] I'm not willing to put program(s) on my computer that take up system resources just to stop something that I can stop by Alt-F4. I don't go to that many sites that have pop-ups. > Aaron > The Nosferatu Stuff Kevin M., Prince of Madison, WI (USA) "Know your enemy, and know yourself; in one-thousand battles you shall never be in peril." -- Sun Tzu, *The Art of War* "Contentment...
