Actions requiring Disciplines

There are currently a couple of cards in play that effect actions requiring certain disciplines. For instance, Ancestor's Talisman gives intercept against actions requiring dominate or presence; and Dartmoor England gives stealth to actions requiring protean or animalism. My question is: How are such actions defined? Does it refer only to action cards that require such disciplines? Or is it also meant to include actions that have been modified by cards requiring the discipline in question? For instance, if I do a normal bleed and modify it with conditioning, is that now considered to be an "action requiring dominate"? Or if I have Dartoor England on a vampire, and that vampire modifies a bleed with Earth Control at superior, do I then get +3 stealth instead of +2 because the action has become, in its modified form, an "action requiring protean". Thanks in advance John W.

It refers specifically to Action cards (the ones that have the <> as the upper left hand corner icon) that require that specific discipline, and not an action using action modifiers of that discipline. For instance, Govern the Unaligned would be an Action requiring Dominate, while Bleeding someone (a non discipline action) with Conditioning would not. The Ancestors Talisman would give its bonus against minions using Action cards such as GtUA, Social Charm, Mind Rape, etc, but would not give a bonus against minions using action modifiers like Conditioning, Threats, or Aire of Elation. Correct. For completeness's sake, it would also include actions allowed by cards in play that required a specific discipline. I know of no such cards currently - but it would be the same way the Madness Network allows an action (to burn the Network) that requires a member of a particular clan. -- L. No. Thanks for the donation requires a discipline. The action it provides (burn TftD) does not require any particular discipline. Similarly: Army of Rats, Carrion Coffin, etc. > or do you mean a card in play that requires a vampire to have a > specific discipline before that vamp may take the action? That's exactly what I mean (since it follows card text). -- L. Scott Johnson (vte...@regency.wizards.com) [ quoted text not captured ]

(like a card that said "any vampire with animalism may burn this card as a (D) action..") salem....
