My group had conflicting views the other night on Charnas the Imp
(unique retainer, 1 life. Place retainer on any minion of your choice.
Charnas the Imp inflicts one damage to the minion each time the minion
untaps. If the minion is burned, its controller can place Charnas on any
minion. Charnas cannot be damaged by the minion he is placed on.)
We read the second to last sentence as meaning the controller of the
minion that was burned can place charnas on another minion (not that the
controller of charnas can place him on another minion).
The question is "Who is the controller of Charnas?" If Charnas is
placed on my minion by Meth. "A", does "A" then control charnas? If Meth.
"A" is ousted, does charnas leave play? If Charnas is contested, does
Meth "A" pay the cost to avoid yielding? If Meth "A" does control
Charnas, then are we reading the 2nd to last sentence wrong (does the
controller of Charnas get to choose a new minion)? What
happens if the minion with the Imp gets banished?
Charnas will suddenly become a vary powerful card if Meth "A" gets to
constantly choose who gets charnas each time a minion is burned.
What does everyone else think? Has there been a ruling on this?
Thanks
