Beeing a newbie in the whole V:TES matter, but trying to get inside as
the game as much as possible, i came up with un unexpected
difficulty...
As much as i would like to play with older sets Clans (tzimisce for
example), I see that it is almost impossible do to so. Sabbat war
cards are just too rare and expensive.
So, it's sad for me that it is only possible to get cards or clans as
far as Camarilla, etc...
Why does white wolf keep coming up with new expansions, and doesn't
reprint older ones (even thought i know they were in some cases
reprinted) ?
I'm sure that the new expansions bring out something new, but how
about the "oldies" ?
Am i "doomed" to play !Tremere, !Toreador, !Malkavian, etc...?
Am i "doomed" to pay true fortunes for Vicissitude Uncommon/rare cards
as well as Tzimisce vampires ?
Please tell me there is still a chance for me without having to sell
my car, my house to get a Sabbat war winning deck.
Thanks in advance.

You could buy Sabbat War cards (or whatever else you like in the
WW era) on-line
According to http://secure.white-wolf.com/catalog/ (section: collectible
cardgames) everything is available except some of the starter decks.
Many shops don't see a huge amount of business in V:tES cards and
therefore do not order sets they have run out of. Maybe you can talk
to a shop to have them order what you want if you are reluctant to do
business via the internet (shipping is not exactly free either which
you might want to consider if comparing prices and you do need an
international credit card).

"Why doesn't WW reprint expansions (even though they reprint expansions)?"
Um, correct? The latter?
Not sure what you're looking for here.
Sabbat War had been through what, three, four reprints? I've lost count.
1) It's a Trading Card Game - you're *encouraged* to trade for the
cards you need.
2) We've reprinted older expansions, and we have not changed that
policy.

Hello.
you have a real problem on your hands as there are no tzimisce
starters out there. I believe white wolf will be printing !brujah,
!ventrue, Lasombra, and Tzimisce starters, probably just rereleasing
the old ones at some point. If you want a succesful tzimisce deck you
will just have to wait and buy 3-4 tzimisce starters or something,
there are a few cards that are not printed anywhere else and are quite
important - namely breath of the dragon. Good cards for the tzimisce
are sprinkled about in various sets, you might want to play fiendish
tongues for bleed cards which come from the anarch set, and you will
want to trade yourself some Read the Winds from the bloodlines set. If
you get several starters as suggested by me earlier, you will have a
nice spread of the important vicissitude commons and the Sabbat War
boosters will only have plasmic forms for you as desirable commons but
they are not that necessary.
Beyond that its up to you to decide what kind of tzimisce you want to
play. The clan has many, many great decktypes to offer so if you are
just starting out and want to focus on one clan the tzimisce is an
excellent choice barring the unfortunate circumstance of no starters
readily available. If you do get yourself some tzimisce starters the
next thing to look for are the vampires which dont feature in the
starter but are in the boosters, these shouldnt be hard to acquire.
Dont worry about the Tzimisce starter too much though, it and its
fellow SW starters will show up at some point. The tzim starter was
one of the most popular ones here so it would be dumb not to reprint
it.

What does a standard, not at all shabby Tzimisce deck have, then?
For combat they can use Carrion Crows and Chiropteran Marauder
(commons), and supplement that with an odd Horrid Form (uncommon), Song of
Serenity (common) and of course Breath of the Dragon (only good rare
combat card), which isn't a must. Add to that perhaps some Telepathic
Tracking (uncommon) and especially Rotschrechs (easy to come by these
days) and you have an easily modifiable combat frame for an intercept
deck. Can't go wrong with 12+ Chiropterans, 6-8 Carrion Crows, perhaps
some guns and some means to get presses when you want them. Rares? Nice,
but not mandatory. Taste of Vitaes can also be used to help getting some
blood back (.44 + Crows = 4 blood back, press, Chiropteran and
Rotschrech, voila!)
Intercept then.. Only rarer card you want to have into an intercept
module is Eagle's Sight (uncommon), which you want to you to hose your
prey's (D) actions against his prey. Otherwise it's commons all the way:
Forced Awakening, all auspex and animalism intercept cards and of course
some bleed bounce from Telepathic Misdirection. Revenants are uncommon,
but they nor Raven Spies shouldn't be too hard to come by. Read the
Winds is a Bloodlines uncommon, but those are by no means an absolute
necessity and they cost blood, too.
Of course, you need some means to go for the kill, too. Packing two or
three Pulses should help either to bleed for some more, or get you into
more fights. Using either Computer Hacking or Fiendish Tongue should
help some, too - both commons just like is Army of Rats which you should
have no problems to defend. Changelings (common) are also a nice
multiple use tool. If you think you'll need more stealth, look for
Stealth Ritus (common).
Blood dolls are a necessity, of course (commons) and rest of the master
slots you can fill with whatever suits your fancies. Do not forget those
Rotschrechs :)
All in all, while Tzimisce do have a lot of uncommon and rare toys and
trinkets, building a solid intercept, bleed or even vote deck doesn't
really require too much, commons will do and you get to keep your house
and car, too.

There's a difference between a card game you *collect* and a card game
you *invest* into. The correct answer to the original problem is, "no
worries, you don't need the rare and expensive cards, this isn't M:tG".

Trade for the cards you need.
Buy SW through E-bay by the box, I continually see boxes for $60
there, as well as through online retailers.
When a sets is seller per box for as much as the new sets are, I
wouldn't consider those sets hard to find.
The original Sabbat expansion, on the other hand...
Also, wait for the anniversary set -- some of the cards you're looking
for might be reprinted in there. I also would not be surprised to see
a new Tzim starter in an upcoming expansion, since they're running out
of clans to build starters for, and the SW precons are getting hard to
find.
Which, by the way, is a good place to get staple Vicissitude cards.

Starvation of Marena is a great new (common!) card for Vicissitude;
ranged damage and a press at inferior. It might as well have the
flavor text "USE WITH CROWS, DUMMY!"
