This is a work in progress that I'd like some feedback, suggestions,
etc. on. This is a (yet another) deck designed to shove Uriah Winter
down my prey's throat. This time, once he moves to my prey, I tag him
with Seeds of Corruption to keep him there and then plaster my prey with
Betrayers. As with most trick decks, this one appears to be fairly
fragile and I'd appreciate any assistance with making it less so while
preserving the intent of the deck. I can add up to 4 more Betrayers and
I would happily reduce the number of the cards in the deck if it would
help.

Noal

You might consider Sarrasine since her special ability allows you to
attain the mystical *4th* master phase action if you are lucky enough
to keep the edge.
Hrm, that kinda adds to the fragility doesn't it. But wouldn't it be
cool to slap 4 betrayers in a turn <g>
Robble, robble.

I'm glad you've finally done your betrayer deck ! if you are looking for
more Betrayers, mail me and i'll browse through my buddies collection.
(snip deck)
I can see you're using a voter deck to gain a lot of pool. The idea is nice
but be sure to have lesss pool than your prey to give him control of Uriah
;)

Can you do that? Here's the relevant note on Seeds:
"Special ability" includes all non-sect, non-title text. (note
that this
only means that the affected vampire cannot do anything that he is
allowed
to do only by special ability - not that he can now overcome some
special
restriction. Assamites still cannot commit diablerie, for example)
[LSJ

I would tend to think that Uriah's text was in the latter category of
'special restriction', as it is not really something he is 'allowed to
do only by special ability', inasmuch as he is not _allowed_ to do it
- he _must_ do it. It also just generally seems pretty clear that
Uriah's text is meant as a penalty or 'restriction', like most other
Caitiff/Pander's.
I like the concept, though, and points for style...

Minions do not normally defect. Uriah is allowed to deflect only by his
card text. Seeds removes that ability.

It's not. LSJ has ruled on this in the past.

Quite. The deck doesn't do much bleeding so it won't get the edge
often, resulting in his special not coming up with enough frequncy to
be worth it. He's also not a Prince nor does he have Thaumaturgy,
which completely marginalizes him.
I did wheel it out once this past weekend before I left early to watch
opening weekend of football with several friends. In spite of not
drawing *any* copies of Uriah Winter in my opening crypt, I managed to
get a VP with the deck with a dedicated S&B deck as my predator. Not
bad for a first effort. So...the concept does have some merit and can
be honed into a competitive strategy.
The bloat angle was definitely a life saver and may be enough for
bleed defense. The fact that all vampires besides Uriah are Princes
keeps it from being completely vulnerable to vote decks. The only
serious concerns are rush combat decks and possibly intercept decks,
both of which are fairly common in my environment. There's nothing I
can do about intercept since stealth is going to be nearly impossible
to come by (Pre/Tha) but Combat defense should be possible.
Ideas or suggesions?

Noal

tremere convocation. non unique, stacks, and gives +1 stealth.
although it does take a master slot which is where you play
betrayers...hmmmm....
salem.

I considered Convocation, too. The master slot isn't as big a concern
since I have 40 masters in the deck. The biggest downside is that only
two of the vampires in my crypt benefit from the +1 stealth, since
it's limited to Tremere. It also costs 2 pool and burnable as a (D)
action. That's a bit tough to overcome.
Creepshow Casino, which I don't think I've gotten yet, would be
helpful for the votes, the 5th Traditions, Rutor's Hand and subsequent
rescues. It won't help with putting Seeds on Uriah, but that's a +1
stealth action already so I can either live with it or add a
Convocation ro two.
I'll have to give the matter some thought.
Thanks,
Noal
