Ok, here is a lethal combo but is it legal. Since Riposte states combat ends is there a chance to play pulled fangs. Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe the latest ruling that I heard about pulled fangs was that is was to be played during the press phase. If so, combat ends should prevent a press phase altogether, right? Opions??? CK

Amaranth, on the other hand, is a combat card to be played immediately *after* combat ends and the opposing vampire is going to torpor. So, if you Riposte an empty vampire, can you then Amaranth him? Drawing out the Beast's effect (superior - one damage) occurs at the end of a round, /regardless of how the round ends/. It does not have to wait for the Press step, and would therefore deal its damage at the end of any round - whether the round ends prematurely (Combat Ends) or not (after the Press Step). Pulled Fangs' effect (one agg) occurs after all strike resolutions in a given round (comparing the total damage swapped between combatants). Pulled Fangs can therefore only be played during combat, after strike resolution. Riposte prevnts combat from reaching that stage, so Fangs cannot be played. [ quoted text not captured ]

For example, if you send a vampire to torpor via aggravated damage, you can yank its Fangs on its way out, even though you haven't reached the press step yet. However, permanents that prevent damage and lasting effects (such as Flesh of Marble) can be applied outside of this step. While you can't play Skin of Rock to prevent the damage from Pulled Fangs, the damage could be prevented if you had superior Flesh of Marble in effect, or an unused Flak Jacket. Can you use Pulled Fangs after Majesty (if you perform Majesty as an additional strike after your initial strike inflicts more damage than your opponent's)? Can you use Pulled Fangs after tapping both the Spawing Pool and then the Elysium (on the second round of combat, of course)? [ quoted text not captured ]
