When you use an action card to bleed (such as the basic version of Enchant Kindred) who can you bleed with it? My group thought that all (D) action bleeds let you bleed anyone in the game. Then we noticed Cat Burglary (basic version is (D) action bleed, advanced version is (D) bleed any Methuselah). Have we been playing all of the (D) bleeds wrong?

There used to be errata granting that kind of omni-directability to all actions marked with a (D) symbol. That errata has been removed. Now, unless card text specifies other targets (like superior Cat Burgalry does), the bleed action can only target your prey. -- LSJ (vte...@wizards.com) VTES Net.Rep for Wizards of the Coast. Barring card specific text (like Night Moves, Cat Burglary, etc) you can only bleed your prey, card or not. >My group thought that all (D) action bleeds let you bleed anyone in the game. >Then we noticed Cat Burglary (basic version is (D) action bleed, advanced >version is (D) bleed any Methuselah). >Have we been playing all of the (D) bleeds wrong? Up until recently, carded D bleeds were allowed to be directed at any player. The updated V:TES Rulebook corrected that. Regards, R. David Zopf Atom Weaver (& V:EKN Prince of Charlotte, NC)

First they didnt. Then they did. Now they dont. What you need to know; A bleed is a bleed is a bleed. You bleed your prey. So if you have a card that says 'bleed at +2', that bleed is directed at your prey (The D symbol reminds you that bleeding is a D action). There are a small number of cards in the game that alllow you to bleed someone else, and these will specifically state that on the card. eg Cat burglary, Night moves, Kindred Spirits, Donatien and Rafaele Giovanni (i think I've forgotten something- not including bleed bounce cards). If you havent, you might want to struggle through the volumes of errata/clarifications/rulings + the new rule book, not to mention the FAQ. You can find the rulings here; http://www.shout.net/mbohlman/rulemirror/rulemonger The FAQ is here; http://www.math.wisc.edu/~hamblin/faq.html Floatey.
