hi. this situation came up in JOL: seterpenre does a d action at +1 stealth khalil wakes and blocks with +1 intercept from KRCG seterpenre plays faceless night khalil plays pseudo-blindness cancelling it seterpenre plays lost in crowds joaquina wakes and attempts to play pseudo-blindness too. can she? what if she "attempts to block" (failing because she doesn't have the intercept)? can she then play pseudo-blindness and khalil can still try to block? thanks! neil ----------------- card text: Pseudo-Blindness [FN:C2, LotN:PR2] Cardtype: Reaction Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Chimerstry [chi] Only usable by a vampire attempting to block. Cancel an action modifier that requires Chimerstry [chi] or Obfuscate [obf] as it is played. [CHI] As above, and if this vampire successfully blocks this action, the acting minion cannot use cards that require Chimerstry or Obfuscate during the resulting combat.

Well, you can use a Wake affect and then use a card that would cancel a card as it is played, but there is no precedent for whether you can attempt to block in between that, that I know of (though I do not see a problem with it). > what if she "attempts to block" (failing because she doesn't have the > intercept)? can she then play pseudo-blindness and khalil can still try to > block? If she can attempt to block and then play Psuedo-Blindness then yes, after failing, Khalil can re-attempt to block.

No. Khalil is attempting to block, not Joaquina. > what if she "attempts to block" (failing because she doesn't have the > intercept)? can she then play pseudo-blindness and khalil can still try to > block? After Khalil's block attempt fails, Joaquina could make an attempt, sure. During that attempt, if Seterpenre plays a suitable card, Joaquina could cancel it with Psuedo-Blindness. And then, if Joaquina's block attempt fails, Khalil could make another attempt, sure. [ quoted text not captured ]

Just for rock solidness: Khalil attempts at +1 cept, cancels faceless, fails to block due to LiC. Joaquina now attempts, may she cancel the LiC?

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] No. Khalil is attempting to block when LiC is played (when it can be canceled), not Joaquina.

That is, transient intercept lasts until the end of the action, not the end of the block attempt, right?

The real question you should ask yourself is why Pseudo-blindness is in your deck, were you blind when you read the card!? :p
