Q: Form of Mist and Fast Reaction

Got a question or three for the rulemongers out there. I've been testing my Tremere/Assamite deck vs. a Gangrel deck and some interesting rule questions have come up... First off, what happens if you block someone, they play FoM to end combat and continue at +1 stealth, and you want to Fast Reaction? Can it even be used? And, if so, what happens if you send the acting minion to torpor in the Fast Reaction combat - can they still continue the action at +1 stealth afterwards, or does the Form of Mist go away at that point? Another question, or really just something I'd like confirmed, is if I play Blood to Water (and it is doing enough to burn all the blood on the opposing vampire), can the opposing vampire respond with cards that cost blood off of the vampire, such as Wolf Claws? My understanding is that the way the game is designed, you shouldn't be able to slap down a card and drain away your opponent's blood, without them getting a chance to respond, but I want to make sure that I'm playing it right. And, last but not least, I've seen rulings that you can play Wolf Claws and Claws of the Dead after the strike declarations because they're not strike cards, which makes sense. However, how late can you play these cards? I've heard arguments that there is a moment between damage prevention and when damage is resolved that you can play the card, so that if I decided to not use my flak jacket, I get toasted. Is this correct, or do those cards have to be played before damage prevention is over? Thanks :) Scott Shaw aum...@io.com

Fast Reaction (and Psyche) will nullify the "continue action" effect of Form of Mist altogether (although the acting vampire will still be at +1 stealth - in case he plays another FoM). Start a new combat and that's that. >Another question, or really just something I'd like confirmed, is if >I play Blood to Water (and it is doing enough to burn all the blood >on the opposing vampire), can the opposing vampire respond with cards >that cost blood off of the vampire, such as Wolf Claws? They cannot "respond" to Blood to Water (except with that new CounterSpell card from Sabbat). All effects in VtES are instantaneous (except action cards, which resolve when the action does; and strikes, which are announced before they resolve). >And, last but not least, I've seen rulings that you can play Wolf Claws >and Claws of the Dead after the strike declarations because they're not >strike cards, which makes sense. You can play them after both strikes are announced, but not once someone has applied damage (or decided to prevent damage). See the Combat Outline I posted earlier this morning. -- L.
