Just got my first box of V:TES, and I couldn't help but notice that the advanced game does not seem to be any different from the original rules. Are there changes I haven't spotted yet, or not? -- Chris Woodfield- rek...@charm.net - http://www.charm.net/~rekoil Principal, Machina Design 410.675.9180 andwhentheycometoenthnicallycleansemewillyoiuspeakoutwillyoudefendme?

Nope. I've read the advanced rules for V:TES in Inquest (or Scrye -- can't remember which) and it read exactly the same as the original ("BEST") version of Jyhad... Speaking of V:TES and Jyhad, is there any easy way to stop a Malkavian/Nosferatu stealth/bleed deck in the basic version of V:TES? I mean, Ozmo decked with a laptop and backed up by stealth and superior bleed cards can seem pretty unstoppable when you're not using intercept cards (and you weren't using a specific anti-malkavian deck)... I've read the advanced rules for V:TES in Inquest (or RULES CHANGES FROM JYHAD TO VAMPIRE: THE ETERNAL STRUGGLE Section 3.2.1 Master Cards Using an out-of-turn master card only burns a master phase action, not your next master phase. However, you can still only play one between turns. Section 3.2.2 Minion Cards Action modifier cards can only be played when it is your turn. Section 6.4 Minion Actions The requirement that your bloodless vampires must hunt before any other actions are taken applies throughout your minion phase, not just at the beginning of the phase. Also, vampires at full capacity can no longer hunt. Section 8.3 Special Combat Effects If the acting minion plays a strike card that ends combat, the blocking minion may still play a strike, even though that strike won't do anything. Section 19 Additional Minion Phase Actions The player rescuing a vampire from torpor chooses how the two blood is spent, even if someone else's vampire is rescued. (This is a reversal of a Jyhad ruling). A vampire trying to leave torpor does not burn blood if the action is blocked. Section 20.1 Retainers and Combat Ranged damage can only be applied to retainers if the round is at long range. Section 21 If aggravated damage is successfully dealt to a vampire, that vampire loses blood equal to the total amount of aggravated damage. -- ----- L. Rush combat and bleed bounce both work fine. I've hypothesized in the past that part of the reason for the Basic Rules is to break new players of the common dependence on + intercept. + Intercept is very useful, and basic to more than half the decks I see, but it's not essential.
