Grouping violations during the game?

Um... I'm not sure off the top of my head if it'll ever be possible, but what would happen if a vampire popped into my crypt that was of a group that isn't allowed to be had I constructed it that way prior to the game. Like if somehow I was playing all group 1 vampires, I graverobbed a group 3 vampire, which gets banished and (somehow) gets sent back into my crypt... Is that possible (to take a vampire in my uncontrolled region back into my crypt...). With mongor down its difficult to search for such cards... Thanks ~SV

Other people's cards never go into your library, crypt or ashheap. -- James Coupe PGP 0x5D623D5D You don't need to hear it but I'm dried up EBD690ECD7A1FB457CA2 and sick to death of love. 13D7E668C3695D623D5D

I'm not LSJ but if that were possible I think the grouping rule only apples at the very beginning of the game. When you take your deck out and say "Ok, here is the deck I am playing." people assuming a few things. 1. the deck has 12+ vampire crypt. 2. the deck has 91> library cards. 3. it isn't random cards your pet chose for you to play and might be a deck worth some careful probing, preferable with a potent probe. Shortly they will be assuming a forth thing and that is that you will not be combining group 1 and 3 vampires in your crypt. If your deck meets conditions 1 and 2 (and soon 4) it is legal to play (if it doesn't meet condition 3 go play with Lego.) it is a legal deck. I'm of the opinion that once a deck is determined to be legal it cannot be made illegal during the course of the game.

Correct. From the preview page (emphasis added): Crypts must be *built* using only vampires from a single group or using only vampires from two consecutive groups. What happens during the game may be many things, but it is not deck building. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. What is the tournament ruling for someone actually showing that they had built their crypt from sets 1 and 3, but not revealing it until say half-way through round 3 of a tournament? A good example of this would be if someone put Sir Ralph Hamilton and Rake in their Eurobrujah but Rake didn't show until round three. Comments Welcome, Norman S. Same thing that happens if any other deck construction rule is violated (like building a deck with an 11-card crypt or a 91-card library). See Penalty Guidelines 102 (if Decklists are used) or 103 (if not). [ quoted text not captured ]
