Some simple stuff I can't figure out... I've nearly memorized the rules and faqs but couldn't find conclusive answers on these- 1) If I'm equipping/employing retainer/ally, do I show the card BEFORE or AFTER they decide to block? My friends think that you only show the card afterwards, but I can't find any mention of this. Answers? 2) If I attempt to steal more blood than a vamp has, does it go to torpor? (I realize I only get the blood that is avail. to steal.) -- Greg Janson Software Visions ** "That's not a bug... it's a feature!" ** Tsukino hikariwa AI no Message! ** Sailor Moon Forever! ^_^

No. Only unhealed damage can send a vampire to torpor (this includes all aggravated damage, since aggravated damage cannot be healed by definition). Anything else that sends a vampire to torpor will state so explicitly on the card (Day Operation, NosPerformance Art, etc.) -- L. No, it is still ready with zero blood, unless also damaged. J. Andrew Lipscomb <ew...@chattanooga.net, them...@delphi.com> PGP keys by request

Does the first point of aggravated damage remove a point of blood, or just send to torpor? For example, if my vamp takes 2 agg. dmg, it goes to torpor. Does it lose 1 or 2 blood? The original Jyhad rules said it lost 1... but the FAQs i've read sometimes say differently. [ quoted text not captured ]

In Jyhad, you lose 1. In VtES, you lose 2. This was one of the primary changes from Jyhad to VtES, and it was done to simplify the proces of applying multiple batches of agg. -- L. But V:tES changes the aggravated damage rules so that a 1 point agravated damage hit removes a blood and puts the vampire in topor. This meas a pulled fangs on a vampire with 0 blood burns the vampire. This was the single greatest change between the Jyhad and V:tES rules. (See Advanced Combat, section 3, Aggravated damage on page 48 of the V:tES rules).
