Here's a few rules question (I'mnot sure there are official rulings on all of these, though; unofficial answers are usually the best we can get these days) about votes. * Blood Hunts/Wyld Hunds are _not_ political actions, right ? That means action modifiers, reactions and usable cards in play that mention political actions can't influence them ? [yesterday night I had a vamp. burned after a diablerie because of the ] [Lasombra master that gives them additional votes during polit. actions, ] [was this right ? ] * What exactly can influence the Prisci vote ? The leaflet in Sabbat says "only Prisci may vote"; does that include them playing action mod/reactions ? what about discarding vote cards ? can another vampire force them to abstain, etc. ? What about the Edge ? (I think giving up the Edge during the Prisci vote would make it worth 3 votes in non-Sabbat games, so I suppose it's not allowed, or shouldn't be) * After the Prisci vote is completed, can a Priscus play action mod/reactions to cast additional votes in the "normal" ballot ? * What about those two Prisci with "additional votes" (I think they are Genevieve - 1 additional vote during a political action - and Gratiano - 1 additional vote during the Prisci vote) ? Is Genevieve's power different from Gratiano's (ie she also votes outside of the Prisci vote) ? If Gratiano forfeits his Priscus title for another, does he still have 1 vote in the Prisci vote ? --- Philippe Duchon (duc...@labri.u-bordeaux.fr)

All correct. >[yesterday night I had a vamp. burned after a diablerie because of the ] >[Lasombra master that gives them additional votes during polit. actions, ] >[was this right ? ] No. It is not a political action, so the Lasombra card can't be used. >* What exactly can influence the Prisci vote ? What about the Edge ? (I think giving up the Edge during > the Prisci vote would make it worth 3 votes in non-Sabbat games, so I > suppose it's not allowed, or shouldn't be) ***** The following are contrary to rulings from the last Net Rep, whose rulings on the Prisci vote I cannot grasp. ***** Q: What can influence...? A: Only Prisci, and cards that mention the Prisci vote explicitly Q: ActMod/React? A: No. Q: Burned PAs? A: No. Q: Force to abstain? A: Yes. Q: Edge? A: No. In the "force to abstain" category - you merely force a Priscus to abstain from the Prisci vote (and the main vote, if the Priscus had any ideas about playing Bewitching Oration or Surprise Influence, for example). You do not for the Prisci as a group to abstain. If each of the Prisci abstains (by choice or by force), then the Prisci vote fizzles, and the 3 Prisci votes are not cast. >* After the Prisci vote is completed, can a Priscus play action mod/reactions > to cast additional votes in the "normal" ballot ? Yes. >* What about those two Prisci with "additional votes" (I think they are > Genevieve - 1 additional vote during a political action - and Gratiano - 1 > additional vote during the Prisci vote) ? If > Gratiano forfeits his Priscus title for another, does he still have 1 vote > in the Prisci vote ? Yes, Genevieve's extra vote comes during the main vote, not the Prisci vote. Gratiano's extra vote comes during the Prisci vote. Gratiano gets his vote even if he has lost his Prisci vote, by card text. Hopefully, errata will be issued to fix that. -- L. Hopefully, everyone in my group will except all these rulings over the crackpot rulings we recieved from the last incrediable vanishing net rep. Steve Bucy I'd be better off undead... I'm new to the newsgroup so I don't know the answer to this yet, but, is Slaughter the herd a typo (the side of the card has the dominate symbol while the text contains potence)? -BlakJak

I've heard its a dominate card, and that the potence symbols are errors. (Confusing though, isn't it. The vampire in the picture looks like she's using potence, not dominate. Also, why should a vampire need dominate to slaughter lots of hapless mortals? I'm still waiting for someone to explain WHY this card is a dominate card. I also don't see how slaughtering mortals would have the effect specified in the superior version of the card.) One way you can tell is by counting the number of dominate & potence cards. There are 9 cards per discipline in the Sabbat expansion. If this were a potence card, there would be only 8 dominate & 10 potence. John Whelan

They are not political actions, so you can't play action modifiers (hah! not an action!), or reaction cards. But... You CAN 'discard' political cards from your hand as votes, tap the ventrue headquarters (or similar), and vote using prisci. > [yesterday night I had a vamp. burned after a diablerie because of the ] > [Lasombra master that gives them additional votes during polit. actions, ] > [was this right ? ] Which card? What about the Edge ? (I think giving up the Edge during > the Prisci vote would make it worth 3 votes in non-Sabbat games, so I > suppose it's not allowed, or shouldn't be) It's basically whoever has the most prisci gets three votes. In a camarilla game, and someone has a prisci out of luck, he gets an instant justicar, as far as I can tell. > * After the Prisci vote is completed, can a Priscus play action mod/reactions > to cast additional votes in the "normal" ballot ? I'm sure. > * What about those two Prisci with "additional votes" (I think they are > Genevieve - 1 additional vote during a political action - and Gratiano - 1 > additional vote during the Prisci vote) ? Is Genevieve's power different > from Gratiano's (ie she also votes outside of the Prisci vote) ? If > Gratiano forfeits his Priscus title for another, does he still have 1 vote > in the Prisci vote ? If Genevieve is the only prisci in play, she gets three votes from the prisci vote, and an additional vote to use in the political action. While Gratiano's additional vote increases your chances of winning the prisci vote. > --- > > Philippe Duchon (duc...@labri.u-bordeaux.fr) > >
