In a tournamnent I was playing in last weekend, several people were
using LSJ's rules outline as the official rules. One of the rules
seemed very strange and incorrect. Here are the relevant sections
of the rules outline:
V.D.2.a.i.:
Strike: Combat Ends. (8.3) (Go to step F)
V.F.:
F. Round Ends. (21) [15.1]
1. Apply any end-of-round effects.
2. If the last Press was used to continue Combat, then Combat continues
(Go back to step A).
Basically, this can be interpreted as saying that after a S:CE has
been played, all outstanding presses to continue are used to continue
combat. So, Trap and Frenzy, which both have automatic presses to
continue, would cancel a S:CE. I have never heard this before, and
don't think it's correct, but it seems to follow from the Rules
Outline. Perhaps V.F.2. should be reworded as the following to avoid
confusion:
2. If the last Press was used to continue Combat, and Combat has not ended,
then Combat continues (Go back to step A).
If I'm wrong (that is, this alternative is correct, please let me know).

There are no outstanding presses. Presses are only made during the
press step, which happens before V.F. Since no presses have been
made, the last one was not a press to continue.

Again, knowing that a press will be made (in the case of Trap) is not
the same as having that press played. The Trap's press was never used,
since the press step was skipped.
