Hi, Last week we were talking about Wind Dance. Sombody suggested that it may be possible to cancel the additional strike from superior Wind Dance with primal instinct and then play a new strike. Is that possible? Why (not)? Primal Instinct [aus] Strike: dodge. [AUS] Only usable by the acting vampire after the opposing minion has chosen his or her strike. Cancel this acting vampire's strike and choose a new one. Wind Dance [tha]: Strike: dodge. [THA] Strike : dodge with an additional strike: dodge.

If the opposing vampire has an additional strike, you may cancel the second dodge with Primal Instinct. Sure, if the vampire is acting and the opposing vampire gains an additional strike (as required by PI). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Links to V:TES news, rules, cards, utilities, and tournament calendar: http://www.white-wolf.com/vtes/ ***** which is curious, as i would have thought you would be able to cancel your additional wind dance dodge, but then be forced to choose it again as your new strike. Kind of like maneuvering with a gun, and then cancelling your compulsory gun strike with Primal Instincts leaves you still having to choose your gun as your new strike. What happens if you strike superior Wind Dance and then cancel your initial strike with PI. Do you still get the additional Strike:Dodge? salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm

[ quoted text not captured ] OK, makes sense. follow up question (AKA the question I really wanted to ask but forgot): Is the aditional strike from Wind Dance a part of the strike? PI doesn't say "cancel the acting minion's strike CARD", it only cancels the strike. So if you cancel the first dodge, what happens to the the additional strike: dodge? Or is this "additional strike:dodge" an inseperable part of the strike: "dodge with an additional strike: dodge" Jeroen

Maneuvering with a strike is covered under the rules and the rules are followed. The rules place no restrictions on Wind Dance's effect. > What happens if you strike superior Wind Dance and then cancel your > initial strike with PI. Do you still get the additional Strike:Dodge?
