Hello again, What happens if a minion used disguised weapon and pulled out a saturday night special and plays dragon breath rounds to boost it up a little, can he play rotschreck on the opposing vamp.? If this is possible, is the gun burned? Another rotschreck situation: an escaped mental patient blocks a vamp and strikes with +1 aggr. after which he is supposed to be burned. If rotschreck is played on the vamp opposing the patient, is the patient still burned? Can the patient choose to 'attempt' the +1 aggr strike to be able to play rotschreck?

Escaped Mental Patient 2 pool Malkavian Antitribu Ally Ally with 1 life. 1 hand damage, 0 bleed. As a (D) action, Escaped Mental Patient can enter combat with any minion as a (D) action. He or she can strike for +1 aggravated hand damage. Burn him or her at the end of combat if he or she does so. Larry Snelly Uncommon Since the patient's strike was for agg damage (otherwise, Rotz couldn't be played), s/he is burned. It's not whether or not the strike was successful that causes the burning but whether or not the strike was agg in the first place. Rotschreck is played before strike resolution, so the patient doesn't actually get to strike for +1 aggravated hand damage. So he isn't burned. [ quoted text not captured ]

The card doesn't say anything about only if the strike resolves the patient get burned. The patient is still striking for +1 agg HD. If s/he wasn't, then Rotz couldn't be played. So because the patient's strike was agg, the patient should burn as per card text. Sorrow

He never actually strikes until you get to the striking phase, which you haven't done because of the Rotschreck. -- James Coupe

But is does say "if he or she does so" meaning "if he or she strikes for +1 agg". > The patient is still striking for +1 agg HD. > If s/he wasn't, then Rotz couldn't be played. No, he or she is attempting to strike (which is sufficient for Rotz) He or she isn't actually striking until the strike resolution phase (which never gets reached). > So because the patient's strike was agg, the patient > should burn as per card text. The patient didn't get to strike (since there's no strike resolution), so his or her strike wasn't the agg one (nor was it any other strike). [ quoted text not captured ]
