Crypt's Sons + Leave Torpor action

Crypt's Sons explicitly says that they allow you to "cancel combat and continue the action". Can you use their special ability on a Leave Torpor action, which doesn't have a combat to cancel?

"Cancel combat" and "continue the action" both happen but do not depend on each other, so there being no combat to cancel doesn't stop the action continuing (although the previously acting vampire going to the ash heap does!) and, likewise, if continuing the action were impossible (I can't think right now of how that would happen) the combat could still be canceled. Right?
