Hello, Next day it will be Brujah Frenzy 2001, a Sanctionned Constructed tournament held at Montreal. If all players that have reserved a spot show up they will have more than 30 players ! It will be a very interesting tournament with all those players, but that cause a problem to the coordinators because the V:TES Optimal Tournament Seating chart maximum of players is 30. Did someone have a version of that for more than 30 players ? Thank you. Not yet, but it isn't hard to arrange a suitable seating chart for large numbers, anyhow. If you're lucky enough to have multiple of 5, then it is very easy: make your chart so that the '2nd' player at each table in the first round moves to the next table number (wrapping back around to the first table from the last, of course). The '3rd' player at each table moves two tables (the 3rd player at the first table will play at the third table, for instance). And so on. Then repeat the process for the 3rd round (using the second round as your base). If this results in some synchronization (players repeating opponents from the first round), try other progressions: 2nd player moves 3 tables, 3rd player moves 5 tables, etc. For non-multiples of 5, do the same thing, but seat a few 'dummy' positions to bring your total up to a multiple of five. If you have only one dummy position, this should work out perfectly. If you have more, you'll have to take care not to seat two of them at the same table. If this happens, try a different progrssion (as above), or just make a few swaps as needed to allieviate the problem. If you've got time after that, try to ensure that no player plays at a 4-player table (a "dummy-seated table") more than once more than any other player. Again, use swaps as necessary. Once you've got the tables, let the players who went first in the first round go, say, third in the second round. And so on. For tables with dummy positions, reassign the table order as needed (since dummies essentially always play 5th position). -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Thank you for the informations. I just hope that I will have the time (or one of the organisator) to do that before the end of the day... (The tournament is in 24 hours) Did you (or someone) plan to do a new version of that chart with more than 30 players? Because tournament with more than 30 players will be more and more common with all the work the organisator make in promoting the game. (The tournament is in 24 hours) Well, you don't normally do it until the tournament starts. (That way you know how many players to seat for). If you've got more than 30, the process shouldn't take more than half an hour. It's the ones less than 30 that really give you headaches (since the conflicts start piling up). > Did you (or someone) plan to do a new version of that chart with more > than 30 players? But organizers should really be prepared to make their own anyhow, for the unfortunate cases of players dropping out in the middle. -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) VTES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc.
