The Gangrel card _completely_ eliminates the Gangrel's ability to bleed. Definately, the Malkavian Dementia is the most powerful. Games can be stood on end by them. -> I was just wondering about the 7 basic clan hosers in -> Jyhad. Which do you think are the most and least powerful. Malk Dementia; great. 'Malkavian Abuse' has become an art form in my playgroup. Once, I actually managed to grab my pred's Malk, diablerize my prey's Democritus (!), and then call a successful bloodhunt! If you have Anson, Minion Tap the stolen vamp dry. Malk Derangement; cute, but I'll stick to dementia. Gangrel Deevolution/Atavism; well, you can stop one from bleeding, but he'll just be a blocker and let the others bleed. Cultivated Blood Shortage; this one could be annoying. If you have good intercept, it could be fatal to an all-Ventrue deck. Triole's Revenge; not too great, can be blocked, burned, or just slap a Blood Doll on him and drain the excess blood. Brujah Frenzy; very good. Make your predator fight your prey. Or, make a deal with someone else, giving him an unblockable Bum's Rush. Judgement; Death to Brujah!; ehem... usually the _last_ thing a person wants is to fight the Brujah. A Gangrel aggro deck might stand a chance in a fight (no chance to use additional strikes) but other than that this is trash. Nosferatu Putrescence; most Nossies pack guns. Whispers of the Nicotine; annoying, but easily burnt. Letter from Vienna; most everyone packs wakey-wakey, although this could allow a swarm-bleed deck to kill an all-Tremere deck. Tragic Love Affair; moderately annoying.

Hmmmm, haven't seen this one... any good?? >Gangrel Deevolution/Atavism; well, you can stop one from bleeding, but >he'll just be a blocker and let the others bleed. Mainly annoying, but essential for a deck that uses stanislava! >Cultivated Blood Shortage; this one could be annoying. If you have good >intercept, it could be fatal to an all-Ventrue deck. VERY ANNOYING (thus speaks a Ventrue player) >Triole's Revenge; not too great, can be blocked, burned, or just slap a >Blood Doll on him and drain the excess blood. Is especially good if it comes through at a good time, and works well if you have the the Inbase diskotek out so that when they hunt you can give them 2 blood a turn! >Brujah Frenzy; very good. Make your predator fight your prey. Or, make >a deal with someone else, giving him an unblockable Bum's Rush. Deffinately a smart card; it also allows you to swipe/smash thier guns! >Judgement; Death to Brujah!; ehem... usually the _last_ thing a person >wants is to fight the Brujah. This is not only Trash - its about as good as a werewolf pack with Hemeroids! >Nosferatu Putrescence; most Nossies pack guns. Not much in our game. Nossies' combat skill is Potence, so reducing hand damage can screw them up pretty badly. >Whispers of the Nicotine; annoying, but easily burnt. Works well with Leadro out! >Letter from Vienna; most everyone packs wakey-wakey, although this could >allow a swarm-bleed deck to kill an all-Tremere deck. Good under CL, with only 4 wakes in your deck! >Tragic Love Affair; moderately annoying. Means that you have to bleed to get the edge, so your prey gets a bit of a pounding, and your predator gets the chance to take you out if you've ended up all tapped out! What about the Ravnos Giovanni Hosers? Giovanni Discrimination: can be pretty useful, paying a blood to block means that you are effectively doing an extra damage for free. Cammarilla segregation: a nice way to screw up a ravnos or giovanni deck, it should be one of the better ones if you can sudden reversal all their hunting grounds and blood dolls so that they end up stuck for bloodback. is there a clan specific Ravnos hoser??? Potence won't help Nos (unless they use some strike cards - but you seem to be of the opinion that such "one use" cards don't qualify as a solution; similar argument for weapons). If you're depending on your gangrel to bleed, you'd better have a strategy for that. If you don't feel like putting the necessary bleed enhancers in the deck, try putting in a few Sudden Reversals. -- L. It has been my experience that Gangrel Deevolution is the most useless of all the clan hosers. Because (a) as long as I am doing any other actions that round or leaving any of my vamps untapped that round then not being able to bleed is not a disadvantage. (b) most gangrel decks I have seen don't do alot of bleeding anyway and (c) the card is totally useless in your deck unless you know your going to have a gangrel pred, something I never know in advanced. I have always thought Malkavian Dementia and then Brujah frenzy are the most powerful because they can be usefull to you even if you don't have the particular clan as pred or prey. I have alway felt that letter from vienna(only helps if tremere are your prey) and gangrel deevolution(only helps if gangrel is your pred and plans to bleed you with a significant portion of his minions) are the most useless. Just my .02 --Steve (of course if you only play gangrels then gangrel deevolution is the most power/only clan hoser)

In article <1996Mar15.1...@schbbs.mot.com>, [ quoted text not captured ] Well this guy does play with just gangrel(I am in his gaming group)and has a damn fine deck,if a little boring.Everyone therefore puts two or three de-evolutions in their deck simply because if he can't bleed he can't win.At least one gets played by his non-prey,just to ensure that if he gets around to them he can't bleed heavily. Also his grand predator may play one on him to make sure he leaves more in defence to hassle his grandpredators prey!Basically the quickest way to finish his deck is to use these 'useless' cards!
