Anyone have a good use for the ally Caiaphas Smith? I guess you could Bum's Rush with him every turn... Caiaphas Smith, Ally, 1 pool, F , [tenth1, tenth2] Unique mortal with 2 life. 1 strength, 0 bleed. Caiaphas may strike for 1R damage. Caiaphas gets an optional maneuver each combat. Any vampire blocking Caiaphas is burned after the combat (if any). Caiaphas cannot bleed. If he is untapped at the start of your turn, your predator takes control of him. best - chris -- Super Fun Cards www.superfuncards.com *NEW Website!* auct...@superfuncards.com

Red Listing and burning him with one of the various ally-burning actions seems like the obvious answer. Lady Constancia could use that combo for obscene power bleeding with Trophy: Revered and No Questions/ Clan Respect. Use her special to repeat the combo and pump more Trophies out of the deck if necessary.

One way to do this is to recruit him via a Madness Network action, and make sure to block something before your turn. After you've had him for one turn, it's easier to hold on to him. But is it worth it? You could rush with him, and give him nasty weapons, as you said. Give him a Starshell Grenade Launcher; then you've got a pretty easy way to tap him even if he doesn't act or block. In a Path-heavy metagame, he's your burning man. Maybe Putrescently Servitude him and find something to do with Potence. Or use him with Imbued and Donate (for intercept or strength, anyway). (And of course there's always the "pass him upstream, Red List him and collect your trophies" idea, but it sounds like you're not interested in that) Just some ideas...

Because he can't act the turn he is recruited, he'll be untapped at the start of your next turn and your predator takes control. Then his predator will take control and so on. Yay, you just wasted 1 pool. I guess you could count on the fact that his moving upstream is inevitable and you could red list rush, as others have suggested. I recently saw Informant get put to that use and it seemed to work out pretty well. Even better than Smith for such a use because it's free and not unique. So, umm, I can't think of any good reason to even bother with Smith. Sorrow

[ quoted text not captured ] Or have a Remover tap him. Or use Steal the Mind, Art's Traumatic Essence, or Recurring Comtemplation to tap him. Or block with him before your next untap phase.

So, umm, >I can't think of any good reason to even bother with Smith. *clutching at straws* Ishtarri implies Fortitude, implies Freak Drive/Forced March, implies multi-acting. So you can get an Informant and Caiaphas in one turn with the same minion. -- James Coupe PGP Key: 0x5D623D5D YOU ARE IN ERROR. I have seen Caiaphis red listed. It is real tricky. I supose you could use Left for Dead. I like Heaven's Gate better. There are a lot of titled 4-6 caps. Wedge

[ quoted text not captured ] > aucti...@superfuncards.com I've seen him Red Listed (who hasn't, after all?) and moving upstream. But yes, if you want to USE him, as stated above, the question would be how to keep him. Something that hasn't been stated above is recruiting him with The Summoning. Then he can act that very turn, thus remaining your minion without having to block tricky, unknown actions by other Methuselahs.

My solution was to give him Talbot's Chainsaw.

You'd have to have untapped and able to act in a turn to (normally) give him Talbot's Chainsaw. If you had him untapped and able to act, you've already solved the problem without the Chainsaw. Explain. Fred

Since the vampire playing The Summoning recruits the ally, it goes into your uncontrolled region like any other recruited ally. John Eno

[ quoted text not captured ] Heh, guess who just found out she's been using the card the wrong way all along. Thanks for pointing out that one.
