They are an invaluable resource. I want to commend you for no longer running the Errata, Rulings, and Clarifications by set, but instead by cards. I wanted to suggest that another step I would love to see taken to make the Errata, etc. be even more user friendly for me, and maybe for others would be to just list all Rulings, Errata, and Clarifications card by card (and rules area by rules area; e.g. all combat Rulings, Errata, and Clarifications together). This would greatly increase the ease by which judges and players can resolve disputes during a tournament and at home (becuase we print the whole thing out on 4 pt. type!). We got a question on Fame? Just look up under Fame for all current Rulings Errata, and Clarifications for that card, instead of having to look in three different sections of the print-out. Perhaps you could follow every Ruling with a "[R]", every Errata with an "[E]", and every Clarification with a "[C]". I would be happy to volunteer to do the first time cut and paste for you... However, if these lists are posted from a database, it might not be as easy. And finally a somewhat dimwitted question - what exactly are the differences between a ruling, errata and clarification. But they are split to avoid overwhelming the standard player with a list of ~500 things when most of it is obvious or intuitive (this format suggested by previous posters). Maybe I'll just start posting URL for the lists in various formats to make sure everyone gets what they need. How's that? (The database can produce the full list in your choice of several orderings - check the "Power Search" page of one of the Rulemonger Mirrors: http://Rulemonger.Home.ML.Org). > And finally a somewhat dimwitted question - what exactly are the differences between > a ruling, errata and clarification. Errata: Change to card text / rules text. Sometimes used for correcting significant omissions (rounds of combat begin at close, e.g.) Ruling: Decision made on how to interpret a rule or card text, when other equally valid (or less equally valid) interpretations can be made. Clarification: Explanation of how rules or card text works in confusing (or not) situations, without needing to resort to resolving ambiguities or alterations. -- L. I checked out the page - is there an text-only version? When I save the page, I get all the HTML as well. To remove all the HTML would take almost as long as just cut and pasting LSJ's regular stuff. In addition, not everyone has web-access, but is on the mailing list or hits this newsgroup - I guess my suggestion is for those (and for those too lazy to go searching for the list on the web - maybe you could get LSJ to put your URL at the end of his posts?) Items appear in the clarifications and rulings sections because at least one person (and therefore many more people are thinking it) brought something to your (or previously Scalpel, Sean, or Tom's) attention. And they brought it to your attention because they were confused about it. And arguably, the whole purpose of these lists is to smooth and ease play for all V:TES players everywhere. > Maybe I'll just start posting URL for the lists in various > formats to make sure everyone gets what they need.
