In the superior version of Daring the Dawn, the "Damage not Preventable" is
missing. Does this mean that the damage is preventable, or is the damage not
preventable implied from the "as above"?

The latter.

I think it's a simple typo. The damage is not preventable. i once made a
deck using 8 Daring, 10 Force of Will and 10 blood tears of Kephren to make
big suprise bleeds with harmless looking Ravnos, but a mate pointed that
fact. An i'm now sure he's right.

It's implied from the "as above."
Similarly, for cards like Blood Fury and Soul Burn, the text stating the damage
can't be prevented by Fortitude is relisted in the superior version, it's
implied.
But in any case, it's also moot. Since Blood Tears have been changed to only
prevent in combat, to the best of my knowledge there is no way to prevent
damage outside of combat.

I don't think so ! there is no errata, nor clarification on this card. you
can prevent outside combat for the purpose of Shadow twin, Catatonic fear or
Riposte. Also note that Blood tears can be used to *gain* two blood, why
would you have to use this during combat ?

I didn't even looked at the final nights version, albeit it was in the
precon i played =/ I just read the text on WW website.
by the way if you have the patience to read the french FN report, you'll
also see that a big vamp was banished by a younger one. too bad.

Blood tears was reworded for Final Nights so that you can only prevent
damage during combat. You can gain blood at any time.

Will Blood Tears work outside of combat in tournament play before July
11th when the Final Nights cards become V:EKN tournament legal?
thanks in advance,
Jay

As I've said, the changes do not become "active" in constructed deck tournaments
until July 11. That includes this change.
