Vampiric Disease The last line implied that there is a way to get more than 1 disease counter (although there was no way at the time that I am aware of). Can I have a list of all the cards that would be able to move counters onto a vampire with a disease counter? I know they exist now. (This is dumb, I know) If you remove all disease counters off the vampire, before reaching 0 blood, is the vampire considered free of the disease?

Try reading the card again. Second sentence. "Each time a vampire with a disease counter is in combat at close range with another vampire, the second vampire gets a counter as well. " Entering combat with a diseased vampire gives you a counter every time, whether or not you already have one. > Can I have a list > of all the cards that would be able to move counters onto a vampire with a > disease counter? Yes, it would be considered disease free. There is no way to remove disease counters except untapping with zero blood. Carpe Noctem. Lasombra http://www.TheLasombra.com

In programming the VTESC, it's important to be 100% sure. The card claims 2 states. Afflicted and having counter(s). These may or may not be synonymous.

If a vampire with a disease counter is in combat with another vampire with a disease counter (and range is close), both vampires get 1 more disease counter, per the card text quoted. > >> Can I have a list > >> of all the cards that would be able to move counters onto a vampire with a > >> disease counter? Since there's no other definition for "afflicted" given, it means "afflicted with disease as indicated by the presence of disease counter(s)". -- LSJ (vte...@white-wolf.com) V:TES Net.Rep for White Wolf, Inc. Hmm can a vampire who is diseased get a 2nd counter on itself if someone plays another Vampiric Disease on it? If so would it burn two blood to untap?

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] Yes. No (see previous message regarding the meaning of afflicted). [ quoted text not captured ]

No (see previous message regarding the meaning of afflicted). > Hey now. Vampiric Disease (Master) says specifically that it cannot be played on a vampire with a disease counter. (LSJ:Doh!) Now there better not be a future card that uses another kind of disease counter, so help me god!

Choose a controlled vampire; put a disease counter on him or her if he or she does not have one." You could still put it on a vampire that had a disease counter, it would simply not gain an additional one at that time. Anyway, as far as I can tell, there is no apparent difference in state between having 1 disease counter and x disease counters. In other words, no matter how many counters you have, there are two states: diseased/afflicted (synonymous - you have counter[s]), and undiseased/unafflicted (no counters). > Now there better not be a future card that uses another kind of disease > counter, so help me god! Why not? :) Xian

So Vampiric Disease (VD?) - the card - is played *on* a vampire (like a Blood Doll,) not just in play (like The Rack - I think?) or in the ash heap with effects still in play (like Tainted Vitae?) And with two VD's in play, as above, wouldn't a vampire with X+1 disease counters burn two blood when he untaps, one for each VD? ie, VD is cummulative? And while on the subject of what goes in play when played, lots of people put Praxis Seizure: Whatever on the acting vampire, but is this actually what you're supposed to do?

It doesn't remain in play. It selects a vampire when played (card text). > And with two VD's in play, as above, wouldn't a vampire with X+1 disease > counters burn two blood when he untaps, one for each VD? ie, VD is > cummulative? VD describes a condition that occurs when an "afflicted" vampire untaps. See the cited message for the meaning of afflicted. > And while on the subject of what goes in play when played, lots of people > put Praxis Seizure: Whatever on the acting vampire, but is this actually > what you're supposed to do? Does it mean it's illegal to do that in a tournament as a reminder that that vampire is a prince and of that particular city? Since you stated in a recent post that you're not to put cards on minions when card text doesn't allow you to (for example putting H.G. on a vampire as a rmeinder to use it every turn) I'd guess you can't?? I think that would be quite bad since it can get hard to remember which vampire was the prince of Miami and not. Roger

I don't think it's that hard - how do you handle Gilbert yielding his title after the vampire to which the title was yielded is burned? But if you find it difficult to remember, feel free to keep notes as allowed by the V:EKN rules. [ quoted text not captured ]

>I don't think it's that hard - how do you handle Gilbert yielding his title >after the vampire to which the title was yielded is burned? > >But if you find it difficult to remember, feel free to keep notes as allowed >by the V:EKN rules. But it might be more problematic if you're playing (for example) a Ventrue weenie vote deck and among Gideon, Violette, Itzahk, and Roland and you're not sure which one is the Prince of Boston, Monacco, Miami, and Cairo. In such cases, it's clear that the person playing this deck should keep notes (to tell which vampire is which Prince) but are the other players obligated to as well? If not, then are the other players allowed to take advantage of the notes I took? So if I wrote down which vamp is which Prince and my predator asks which is which, am I obligated to tell him or should I just have said "you should have written it down yourself?" Thanks! Halcyan 2

LSJ

[ quoted text not captured ] It's public knowledge. If they ask "who's prince of where?" then you have to tell them. If they ask to see you notes (to verify that you're following V:EKN rules, or just to refresh themselves of the things you've noted), you show them your notes. [ quoted text not captured ]

"wanna see my secret notes ? 1 buck for a peek !" seems a nice solution for fast gain in the case of a weeny politics. Save the slots from "Bribes" cards and do it for real ! > Thanks! > > Halcyan 2
